Names you love but partner hates...

I love the name Daisy - DH hates it so we'll never use it

What names do you love that DP has vetoed?

Lara for a girl and Lawrence for a boy - both got vetoed. He suggested Jonathan - which I loathe....

We easily agreed on possible boys names but really struggled to find girls names we both liked. I suggested Imogen, Alice, Iris, Phoebe, to name only a few, and DH said no to them all.

He vetoed Chloe, Lydia & Cordelia,
any 1 syllable names ending in -eth (sounds like someone is lisping apparently)
& lots of boys names which were 'too biblical' but then suggested Joseph FFS

Its a miracle we found any common ground at all!

Tamar and Nora were both rejected absolutely by DP. I've vetoed Ezekiel. We have 20 weeks to agree a middle name for baby. Not finding out sex so two names to disagree on.

Monty ('too posh'), Felix ('the cat'), Asa ('advertising Standards Agency/computer spelt wrong). I'm sure there were many more!

Gethin or Bryn, and Iris (apparently too "old lady" but then he suggested Martha?!)

DH vetoed Mia for dd1. Although I love the name we gave her, I do get a little 'pang' whenever I hear Mia mentioned.

We dot have any sons but when thinking of names when I was pg, I suggested Sebastian for a boy. My usually rather liberal and open-minded DH cast that aside for being "too gay"

We had twins too. ID boys so picking their names were easy. I find out on 21st what gender set I'm having this time. Hate choosing girl name. I no longer like the names we chose. Typical.

DH is very open minded about girls names, not so much with boys names... Hence we have a girl with v unusual name, and a boy with a very popular name. Love both though :)

I think I'm going to be the other way around. As a teacher I can think of an 'orrible child to go with most names and so am screwing my face up at his perfectly sensible suggestions. He likes Genvieve - beautiful name but I'm dyslexic, what is baby is too? Seems cruel! (Am only 6 weeks pregnant so plenty of time to worry and argue!)

Pretty much all girls' names ending in a, Miriam, Hannah.

Atticus, Francis, Hugh, Johannes, Josiah, Lysander, Milo, Oscar, Sebastian.
