Gaius. Yay or nay?

For a boy, pronounced Guy-us.

Classic Greek name and features heavily in the greatest TV show of all time - Battlestar Gallactica.

(had to name change as thus would totally out me IRL)

Sorry OP, I read it as Gay-us, which sadly could lead to name calling at a later stage.

Anything Roman (except perhaps Caligula) is fine by me. Just make sure middle name is not so ancient.

If you like that sound,go for Guy or Gus.
Or a different name altogether if it's unusual that you want.

I think Merlin would be the popular association right now. But in a few years, that'll be forgotten. So unlikely to cause long term issues for the DC; rather it'll happen right now and so be noticed by you not DS.

Why tho? its pronounced Guy-us not gay-us!

(my other choice was Galen pn Gay-len but even I can see sense on that one)

The 'Gai' part would be pronounced Gay by vast majority. No question. Sorry.

I would only know the correct pronunciation if I heard it, otherwise I thought it was Gay-us.
