Feel I'm not brave enough to use this name!

Clearly I'm being very hormonal, but I'm just not sure if I'm brave enough to call DC2.....

Juno

When we already have an Honor.

Thought maybe Juno would be a great middle name but can't find a first name that really suits. Any suggestions? Names I like are Matilda (but not keen on its popularity) Claudia or India (which DH thinks is kicking the ass out of being middle class) Grin

Or should I just stick with Juno?

Juno is adorable. I'd never heard of it until the film but I love it, you have to use it as a first name and I bet throughout her life you will both get many positive comments. Be brave!

goingdownhill · 06/07/2013 20:34

I have an Honor. I also love Juno and India, you clearly have fabulous taste Wink.

lljkk · 06/07/2013 20:43

You know how MNetters worry about chav names? Well there's something opposite, like the very opposite of Chav only just as undesirable.
And I think Juno is it.

(Sorry!)

farmersdaughter · 06/07/2013 21:16

llykk I do agree with you.

Just in several years times i would wonder if we shouldn't have given her something a little more 'conventional' names. Like Charlotte or Alexandra.

Saying that you can't please everyone and it does sound good with Honor and our surname.

Love Juno but love Claudia more Grin

farmersdaughter · 06/07/2013 21:20

You all say Juno, but really would you actually use it??

goingdown I would ask what your children are already called, but I have a feeling it's William, Lucas and Alexandra??

Always well it is a good name.

I like Juno, it isn't my favourite name of all time, but it goes well with Honour. I wouldn't think it too unusual either, although I don't think I've met anyone with the name.

In my head Honour and Iona sound very similar, so I would perhaps consider avoiding that, although it may be due to my accent.

Fairylea · 06/07/2013 21:32

I just think of the film juno.

rob99 · 06/07/2013 21:36

Pretentious names are so popular right now. Swim against the tide :

Jane
Carol
Janine
Hannah
Deborah
Susan
Rachel
Sarah

goingdownhill · 06/07/2013 21:40

Wow that just freaked me out! Do we know each other OP, or have I spent far to much time on baby name threads. Smile

farmersdaughter · 06/07/2013 21:43

Pretentious names...

Plenty of people have told me they think Honor is pretentious Shock

DH won't have India for this reason, as he feels its kicking the ass out of being middle class.

Do like Sarah, however it's already used twice in our family.

I've got a Juno I love it and didn't feel brave using it, it's a lovely name and from roman mythology so not sure why people think its modern.

goingdownhill · 06/07/2013 21:52

Wow you have a great memory. Be brave I would find it refreshing to hear something different than the same 15 names all baby girls seem to be called at the moment. Smile

Skygirls · 06/07/2013 22:00

OP, You mentioned earlier that you like the nn Indy.
How about Indigo?

I think that goes quite well with Honor.

I would have loved to use Indigo as a name but was outvoted.

farmersdaughter · 06/07/2013 22:00

going..I'm odd like that. Don't ask me to remember anything academic Grin

bugsybill · 06/07/2013 23:38

If India is too pretentious then how about Indianna?

Honor and Indianna (or Indiana) go nicely and they have a different 'feel' to Honor and Juno. (You could nickname Indy).

bugsybill · 06/07/2013 23:52

You ask if I would use Juno?

No it wouldn't suit my family.

I like it but it is too posh for us. I think Honor would be ok for us but Juno wouldnt. Personally for us we could use unusual names that are on the hippy/nature side of things but we couldn't use the posh/unusual names like benedict, Jude, Cecile, aurelia, valentina or Juno. It is just a personal feeling about whether a name suits.

bugsybill · 06/07/2013 23:53

I do like Juno though :)

notanyanymore · 06/07/2013 23:55

Lovely name and goes really well with Honor

mathanxiety · 07/07/2013 00:16

A few names that 'go' with Honor without 'kicking the ass out of being middle class':
Estelle
Zoe
Blythe
Vita
Ruth
Cleo
Inez
Tamsin
Constance
Felicity
Cornelia
Beatrix
Laurel
Naomi
Willa or Willow
Flora
Serena
Eve
Tess

Jaynebxl · 07/07/2013 07:35

Another one who couldn't use Juno because of the film, please watch the film and then see if you still like it. I would be put off just because of the association people might make.

And India is definitely pretentious!

Not very helpful am I? Grin

Jaynebxl · 07/07/2013 07:37

Honor could work with other similar characteristic based names such as Faith, Grace, Hope, Joy I guess.

RoadToTuapeka · 07/07/2013 07:39

Love it! If I'd had a girl she might have been Juno. Only thing to consider is how it sounds with her surname. My DH was concerned it would sound like 'June O'surname' rather than 'Juno Surname'.
