How many Baby Rose's do you know?

Please tell me how many baby Rose / Rosie / Rosa's you know that have been born this or last year?

I love the name and don't mind it being popular but a few MN people have said they think its exploding in popularity and I'd rather DD wasn't one of 10 in her class. The latest stats and my own experience doesn't make me think there are too many

What do you think? And thanks!.

none!

Morgause · 27/06/2013 09:53

Sadly there are too many, I'd say.

Maybe Rosalie or Rosemary and Rose forshort?

daisydoodoo · 27/06/2013 09:54

None that I can think of with rose as first name, a fair few with rose as second/middle names.

Fifi2406 · 27/06/2013 10:44

None as a first name

CalamityJones · 27/06/2013 10:48

One Rose, one Rosemary, one Rosa.

notso · 27/06/2013 10:50

None as First name, loads middle name.
I love Rose Smile

MortifiedAdams · 27/06/2013 10:51

One Rose, born last July. I think it is uncommon as a FN but v.common as a MN.Like Jane, really.

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 27/06/2013 10:52

One Rose, two Rosas

commsgirl · 27/06/2013 11:42

Just one Rosie.

Fantail · 27/06/2013 11:50

Chances are she will not be one of 10 Rose's in her class. The pool of names people choose from in larger than say 20 years ago, therefore even if Rose is the number 1 name in 2013 there won't be as many Rose's as say Jennifer's in the 1970s.

There were 6 girls in my year with the same name as me and my name has never featured in the top 20 names.

Exhaustipated · 27/06/2013 12:36

I know one Rose, one Rosa and one Rosie. Lots with Rose as middle name too. I don't think Rose is that popular but when you add up all the variations/shortenings it seems more common. A bit like Eva/Evelyne/Eve/Evie/Ava but to a lesser extent.

It's a lovely name, anyway. I considered it for DD but DH thought it was 'boring'!

Exhaustipated · 27/06/2013 12:40

Oops none of these were born this year or last.. just in the last 5 years.

GoodMorningMoon · 27/06/2013 12:46

None as a fn! Shame really, it's lovely.

TigerFeet · 27/06/2013 12:52

I know one of about 14 weeks and I have a friend who is prob going to call her currently brewing baby Rose if it's a girl.

I love it, I've done my bit for the continuation of the species but it would be on my list if I were to have another.

farmersdaughter · 27/06/2013 13:19

I know 1 aged 2.

Rose nn Rosie

sleepingbeautiful · 27/06/2013 13:30

There was a MNetter who used Rosalie for one of her twins a couple of weeks ago, but other than that I don't know any young kids/babies with Rose related first names, just loads with it as a middle name.

ItCameFromOuterSpace · 27/06/2013 14:06

I know quite a few. Not my cup of tea personally but if you love the name I wouldn't let popularity put you off.

SleepyCatOnTheMat · 27/06/2013 14:40

None of these names is top 50 - Rosie is #55, Rose is #76 and Rosa is #245. Rosalie is #645. So at the minute you are unlikely to be falling over a bunch of them at mother and baby groups - my DS's name was something like #78 the year he was born and we've never met another.

However all of these names have increased in popularity over the last decade and in theory could keep rising.

Chesterado · 27/06/2013 14:50

Two Roses and one Rosie!

mrsyattering · 27/06/2013 15:07

None, and none in ds nursery class or dd p1 class either

SleepyCatOnTheMat · 27/06/2013 15:22

Forgot to say I've only come across one Rose, age 4.

NeedSomeSun142 · 27/06/2013 15:24

I know a Lillian Rose but no first name Roses

sundanceclaire · 27/06/2013 15:32

None as a first name, too many to count as a middle name.

Redblackcar2 · 27/06/2013 17:24

Two under two

mrstowers · 27/06/2013 18:33

3 under the age of one
