I prefer Katharine or Kathryn.

I'd also stick to the full name and resist shortening to Kate/Katie but it'd be quite a job as it's invariably shortened.

GampyWabbit · 27/06/2013 22:40

Katherine.

MirandaGoshawk · 27/06/2013 22:44

Catherine.

Or Kaffryn Smile

SorrelForbes · 27/06/2013 22:44

Katharine. I think it's the original spelling. Yes, I do have to spell it out but I like it Grin

therumoursaretrue · 27/06/2013 22:45

Catherine, I think it looks the nicest when written down. Possibly biased though as this is the spelling of my middle name.

LemonBreeland · 27/06/2013 22:47

Catherine. I think it looks nicer. And despite having two good friends at school called Catherine and Katherine, I always think of it being spelt the former way.

MayimBialik · 27/06/2013 22:49

Catherine.

We took it from the French, back in the day (hundreds of years ago) so that's why it is traditionally spelt that way in Britain and France. Most other cultures use a K in their versions of the name as in the original Greek.

There are many saints with the name. The most well known being Katherine/Catherine of Alexandria and Catherine of Siena. Catherine of Siena is a Doctor of the Catholic church - only given to some of the greatest saints whose theology has been groundbreaking. Her biography/life story is incredible.

postmanpatscat · 30/06/2013 06:33

DDs middle name is Katherine, we used that spelling so that her initials are the same as her dad's.

exoticfruits · 30/06/2013 06:36

Catherine first but Katherine is fine, but not the rest.
