Seraphina or China? Opinions?

Which one would be your choice out of Seraphina or China?
Honestly are these a bit too way out or do you think they are acceptable to use as first names?

They're both pretty awful, sorry. Seraphina is better than China though.

Have heard a few Seraphina's round here and think it is just pushing the boundaries of too-poshness. China is just daft.

China is not a name. Seraphina is, although not to my taste.

I've taught a couple of teenage Chinas. They were both terrifying.

I knew a lovely seraphina. She went by sera for short.

I much prefer it to china.

Have you thought about India?

Why did you choose these two particular names? Just curious to know if there are any connections, special ir otherwise.

Seraphina is beautiful - classic, feminine and not overused.

China or India could work but I still associate these very much with the countries.

Seraphina by all the country miles.

I don't think you have to have "roots" in a country to use the name but intensely dislike China as a given name.

The only "place name" I like is India.

My daughter was in nursery with a girl named Chynna, when we asked her the names of the children in her class she said there was someone named glassGrin

China sounds odd as a name and Seraphina sounds pretentious.

I'm fairly sure most of the names I like would be considered pretentious

Alisvolat - it's ok, that's just my opinion and I don't expect anyone to agree Grin

To my ears it's a little bit 'try hard' or fussy (although i do like the meaning)
There are other names that I consider in a similar vein that don't sound that way - Persephone for example.
Seraphine sounds better to me.
