I genuinely adore the sound of this name...and it has a lovely meaning.

I get the HP reference isn't great and the rhyming perhaps...but I'd love to use it...

Siblings are Arlo and Skye,is Myrtle just too different? Do they sit oddly together?

No no no. The Harry Potter books are destined to become children's classics which will be read by your dd's classmates and every other child she meets - the Moaning Myrtle reference will never go away and will, in all probability, end up being her nickname. Don't do that to your little girl!

I absolutely love Myrtle. My friend had a lovely cat named Myrtle (her sister was Wysteria, just FYI) and I always thought what a cute name it was.

I think Arlo and Myrtle go well together, but Skye and Myrtle? Not so much. I think you may well need to go for something a little less 'antiquey' sounding not much help, sorry

It's not my cup of tea at all. But as other posters have said don't underestimate the power of Harry Potter. It mightn't bother you but I'm not sure I'd be over the moon if my daughter was known as Moaning Myrtle who lived in a toilet for most of primary school.

Your older childrens names are lovely, I'd also be thinking that as some pointed the child would turn round to me and seethe "why did I get the granny name?"
