So far we have:

Alice
Bronwen

Opinions? First or second names Smile

Nothing beginning with J or H due to sibling or last name

Rosie Alice is lovely. not bronwen, sorry

but I would name her Rosemary or Rosamund on her birth certificate.

think ahead, when she's top corporate lawyer or brain surgeon she might not want to be called Rosie!Wink

Amy106 · 16/06/2013 03:50

I really like Alice..nice for a child or an adult.

SilverBirdie · 16/06/2013 08:44

I adore Alice and think it's more grown up than Rosie though I do like that too. How about Rosalie?
Alice Rosalie together is nice Smile

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 16/06/2013 09:03

Bronwen is lovely,I know a very sweet 6yr old one Smile

forevergreek · 16/06/2013 09:05

I like Bronwen Roselie

Rtfairy · 16/06/2013 09:21

Absolutely love both Rosie and Alice (don't think Rosie needs longer name on bc). Not sure about Bronwyn, sounds harsh to me next to those gorgeous girly names. If it has special meaning to you maybe use as a middle name.

bugsybill · 16/06/2013 12:56

I like Alice.
I prefer Rose with the nickname Rosie.

Bronwen is quite nice, but I prefer it spelt Bronwyn.

smother · 16/06/2013 13:05

They are all gorgeous.

I think Bronwyn will stand out most (in a good way) once she starts school, Rosie and Alice are more girlie and there are lots of little girls with girly names around.... Bronwyn had good girlie nickname potential (Bea, Bonnie, Winnie) so the best of both worlds!

GW297 · 16/06/2013 13:07

Alice

Layl77 · 16/06/2013 13:23

Alice

fussychica · 16/06/2013 15:59

Alice (would have been my DS's name if he had been a DD) we were going with Alice May but Alice Rose is lovely too.

Littlecherublegs · 16/06/2013 16:47

I like Bronwen.

Think Alice and Rosie are a little 'wet' somehow (sorry).

Dont mind Rosa though... or Anna...

AmIGoingMad · 16/06/2013 16:52

I like both Alice and Rose but I'm not as keen on Bronwyn.

AmIGoingMad · 16/06/2013 16:53

Sorry Rosie not Rose( although Rose us very nice too)!

AllegraLilac · 16/06/2013 18:39

Apparently it is spelled Bronwyn when used for a girl?

I only like the Bronwen spelling, and have gone off the name since being corrected by Mumsnet.

AllegraLilac · 16/06/2013 18:40

I should say 'corrected' by Mumsnet, in the most Mumsnetty sense.

There are plenty of women who spell it Bronwen.

betsybo · 16/06/2013 18:46

I love Alice Rosalie. Very pretty.

Bronwen is nice but not as keen.

pegster · 16/06/2013 19:16

Definitely Bronwen - lovely name & this is the correct welsh spelling (Wyn in male)

TangfasticMrFoxalastic · 16/06/2013 21:46

There's a Welsh part of the family, definitely Bronwen for a girl, as 'wyn' is masculine. Makes me wonder if she'd have trouble with people spelling it as we're in England

Good point about Rosie, would probably go for Rose but nn Rosie.

Was reminded today about Violet...

I'm sure our boy wasn't that difficult to name. Thanks for the opinions :)

We're about to have an Alice and can't decide on middle name, though variations of Rose are on our list :)

So I vote Alice Rosalie - very pretty x

TheBirdsFellDownToDingADong · 17/06/2013 10:04

I like both Alice and Rose very much. Bronwen sounds clumpy to me.

Rose v much underused as a first name. Lovely.
