Hattie or Phoebe

Loving both of these, neither are popular where I am from (so don't let that affect your choice Smile)

It would be Hattie on the BC and Phoebe would probably get the nn Bee.

Phoebe is lovely and I like Bee as well.

Hattie is a mad hatter and scatty, plus you wouldn't be using the full form Harriet so another minus point IMHO.

DramaAlpaca · 14/06/2013 14:46

Agree with Elquota.

Phoebe/Bee is gorgeous. Makes me wish I'd had a DD (only DH would've vetoed it!)

Hattie is just about OK if nn for Harriet/Henrietta, but i don't like it on its own.

GingerCurry · 14/06/2013 14:46

I like Hattie best

lilstar · 14/06/2013 17:24

Phoebe is the best.

Turniptwirl · 14/06/2013 18:23

I like both but personally would put Harriet on the birth cert and call her Hattie

StrawberrytallCAKE · 14/06/2013 18:26

I have a Phoebe so would go for that but haven't thought of the nn Bee, I call her Pheebs but love Bee!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 14/06/2013 18:27

*hadn't

herladyship · 14/06/2013 18:29

I have a Phoebe Smile (age 12)

Only know one other in rl

Love Hattie as well, but would choose Harriet for formal use & put it in bc

win/win with your two choices

spondulix · 14/06/2013 18:36

Love Hattie. Not so keen on Phoebe.

nutella81 · 14/06/2013 20:38

Hattie

laravh · 14/06/2013 20:54

I like both, but prefer Phoebe.
Don't understand people who would put a different name on the birth certificate purely to enable the nickname. If you like Hattie just put it on the birth certificate. Who else is really going to know. I find it all a but pretentious.

Elquota · 14/06/2013 21:24

But if no-one knows, why is it pretentious? Confused

Bowlersarm · 14/06/2013 21:28

Don't like Hattie much, and definitely not as a stand alone name.

I quite like Phoebe, and love the 'Bee' bit of it.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 15/06/2013 01:54

Love Hattie, but I love Harriet too, so I'd have that on the BC. I also think names with a few variations are good, so Harriet/Hattie/Harry trumps Hattie/um... Hats?

spondulix · 15/06/2013 02:07

laravh what do you mean by 'pretentious', who do you think the OP is affecting to impress here?! Grin Do you know what 'pretentious' means?

Ham69 · 15/06/2013 09:33

Love Hattie but only as a nn for Harriet so I'd go for Phoebe.

BlueStarsAtNight · 15/06/2013 09:55

I love Phoebe, not keen on Hattie as a stand alone name.

jessjessjess · 15/06/2013 11:02

Phoebe is much nicer.

Wildt · 15/06/2013 11:08

Hattie!

Laquila · 16/06/2013 10:20

Love both, but would go for Harriet rather than Hattie and then she had the choice of both when she's older. (Some names that are adorable/charming on little girls might mean they struggle to be taken seriously later on!)

FetaCheeny · 16/06/2013 15:04

It's not pretentious it's about giving someone choice.

Much prefer Phoebe.

Rtfairy · 16/06/2013 15:42

Prefer Hattie
