Nay

Christabel3 · 07/06/2013 21:15

What is it about the name that you love? :-|

Salbertina · 07/06/2013 21:17

Actually really like it! But really unusual, which maybe is what you want.

meditrina · 07/06/2013 21:17

Rather like it!

But I suspect it's so little used now that most people will only ever have heard of it in HP, and she wasn't a great character.

ARightOldPickle · 07/06/2013 21:20

One of my gt gt grandmothers was called Hephzibah. I'm quite pleased it hasn't been passed down the familySmile
So a nay from me!

Sorry, its a no from me.

cupcake78 · 07/06/2013 21:30

Isn't that a witches name from some children's programme or book?

shallweshop · 07/06/2013 21:30

Didn't mean to double post - it's not that bad!

AKissIsNotAContract · 07/06/2013 21:33

I like it. The only downside is if it gets shortened to Hep, especially if your surname starts with A, B or C

ThwartedbyMum · 07/06/2013 21:33

I think of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers too! I like it.

TheYamiOfYawn · 07/06/2013 21:36

Love it.

Earnshaw · 07/06/2013 21:36

Grin AKiss

I went to school with a Hep.

BoffinMum · 07/06/2013 21:38

Bloody hell. No.

Floggingmolly · 07/06/2013 21:42

Ridiculous Hmm

Sheshelob · 07/06/2013 21:44

Carrie's War.

Love it.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 07/06/2013 21:47

Eppie from Silas Marner.

I love it but nowhere near brave enough!

Devora · 07/06/2013 21:55

When I was a teenager we had a family friend called Hephzibah who took me under her wing, taught me piano, taught me about feminism, then sadly died young [goes misty-eyed].

So I have a great fondness for the name. I'm not convinced your dd will thank you for it, though - it's so far out of fashion it may yet come back the other side Smile

2children2cats · 07/06/2013 22:00

I knew a lovely one that went by hepsie.

IControlSandwichMonkey · 07/06/2013 22:03

I knew a lovely one. Middle name was Japonica.

I really rather like it.

WhiteHairReally · 07/06/2013 22:04

Isn't there a journalist, Hepzibah Anderson who wrote Chastened: The Unexpected Story of My Year without Sex ?

SneakyBiscuitEater · 07/06/2013 22:04

I like it. Go for it.

LondonBus · 07/06/2013 22:07

Go on, I dare you!
