Don't know how official this is, but might be worth having a look if you are interested in name charts for UK :)

Ah, brilliant, thanks OP. I was waiting with baited breath for the ONS stats that I think come out in August.

PollyJane · 06/06/2013 21:17

These aren't the official ones I dont think? Not sure how they got the info, but it is interesting whilst we are waiting for the Gov figures :)

'Not sure how they got the info'

Harassing women on the maternity ward?

Cananyone do a clickable link just I'm on my phone?

AKissIsNotAContract · 06/06/2013 21:40

clicky

mummybare · 06/06/2013 21:55

Hmm, it claims '80% of girls born in April were called April'

I think they mean 80% of girls called April were born in April...

hellokitty123 · 06/06/2013 22:17

But these only show the most popular, top 100, names....

The ONS produce a list that gives ALL baby names given each year, not sure when that is published though.

PollyJane · 06/06/2013 22:46

Yes I know that, just thought it would be an interesting read whilst we were waiting fro the ONS list - it's normally summer time isnt it?

hellokitty I couldn't find that bit on the ONS report and data for 2011 - I could only get to the top 100.

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 07/06/2013 14:53

Ignore me - found it!

MyNameIsSuz · 07/06/2013 22:23

Hahaha Mummybare, I noticed that too! I also noticed that below it they claim that whatever % of girls named Holly where born at Christmas. Pedantic, moi?

IsThisAGoodIdea · 08/06/2013 16:48

Funny how none of the names I'm always reading on MN are in there.

Whenever a poster says, for example, how many Persephone's do you know...everyone piles in to say "I know 60 in my village alone." Yet the stats never bear this out.

PollyJane · 08/06/2013 17:32

I always think that too, Isthisagoodidea - I am from the Channel Islands, I know one Jack, two Isabelles and one Harry! FWIW my (3yo) neice goes to a playgroup, Sunday School and has a childminder, so we are exposed to children under five a lot (I care for her part time so get to know her friends) and I encounter more Rebeccas, Imogens and Emilys than Penelopes and Ptolomys :)

However, I realise that Channel Islands are not entered into ONS stats, so hey ho!

My kids aren't in the top 100, but my cat's name is Grin

The 'unusual' names were a bit Hmm especially Buzz-Bee. Sorry if that is the name of anyone here, but it's odd.

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 08/06/2013 21:17

Ha Needles, I spotted that too! And Jaxon (which must surely be a misspelling of Jackson?!)

NeedlesCuties · 08/06/2013 21:28

I know a girl called Jaxon! Mad!
