I love it and i think it is so under rated but i've had mixed reactions

So honestly, what do you think of it?

As in Norman? Doesn't conjure up the best image..

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 30/05/2013 20:41

Lament.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 30/05/2013 20:41

La Mont, ooh la la - poncy, trying to hard.

rockybalboa · 30/05/2013 20:43

Norman. Eyebrows. No.

CashmereHoodlum · 30/05/2013 20:46

Are you Scottish, living in Scotland? If so, it's a fabulous name. If you live in England everybody would pronounce it LaMONT, and think of Norman.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 30/05/2013 20:47

Norman, sorry :(

Moominsarehippos · 30/05/2013 20:49

How would we pronounce is in scotland? I've never heard of it as a first name.

AKissIsNotAContract · 30/05/2013 20:50

I've never heard of it. First thought was Norman.

itsunconditionallove · 30/05/2013 20:51

Norman Lamont never even crossed my mind, oh dear Sad

Hahaha, I thought this was a thread about Norman Lamont and wondered why on earth he was being discussed!

MrsBungle · 30/05/2013 20:53

Yes in England it seems to be LA MONT rather than Lament. I have never heard of it as a first name in Scotland or England.

MrsBungle · 30/05/2013 20:54

Yes it's pronounced like Lam nnt in Scotland.

itsunconditionallove · 30/05/2013 20:54

It is popular in Jamaica were DH grew up, glad i asked for your opinions now i will probably have to rethink again.

I quite like it. It's a bit unusual and quirky but not too outrageous, I'm not sure about the association with Norman Lamont though Confused

TheresTheDoor · 30/05/2013 21:17

It sounds massively try hard. Sorry.

YDdraigGoch · 30/05/2013 21:18

It's a dreadful name - sorry. And it's not a first name, its a surname.

SingleBelle · 30/05/2013 22:10

Norman Lamont's massive eyebrows on Spitting Image!! Grin sorry!

SingleBelle · 30/05/2013 22:11

wasn't he also a slug on spitting image Confused

PlentyOfFreeTime · 30/05/2013 23:24

No - the slug was Kenneth Baker.

Sunnysummer · 31/05/2013 01:02

I don't know Norman Lamont... But to me it does sound like the hero of a paperback romance novel (not necessarily a bad thing, I suppose)

joanofarchitrave · 31/05/2013 01:14

Norman Lamont, sorry. Though that may be more my age (I'm over 40).

LittleMissLucy · 31/05/2013 01:22

I only know it as a last name.
