What do you think of the change to DS middle name?

DS is Robert Henry George Lee. (Lee is surname)

I liked Robert Henry, but panicked at the registry office and stuck the George in as I thought he should have a family name. I have never liked Robert Henry George - it's too pompous and too much of a mouthful. I still feel the family name is important so am thinking of changing it. The options are:

Robert Walton Lee
Robert George Lee
Robert Frederick Lee

What do you think?

I am sorry but I don't get the importance of how many middle names you have, or what they sound like, unless you are thinking of shouting the whole lot across a crowded playground.

The criterion would be what name you like best.

Is George the family name? If so, it sounded like you thought you should leave it in? Unless you actually don't like that person or want to honour them, then it sounds fine to me and I'd leave it in.

Must admit I can't see any point at all in changing it tbh - but it's not my child.

I like the original name you gave him. You wont use the full name much anyway so I would just leave it as it is.

I don't use my middle names in everyday life but can see if you regret plumping for a name, you'd be keen to change it.

I thought you meant, drop the George as that was the last name you picked. I honestly don't know the rules about changing or adding a name, I imagine dropping the Henry would be simple.

That would make your son Robert G Lee (glee) which looks cheerful!

I think Walton looks smart, I think George is pretty popular and if it has relevance as a family name could be considered, and Frederick has long been a favourite of mine, (or more accurately, Freddie).

I guess second names are useful if your DS grows up to dislike his first name, in which case there might be quite a few Georges in his age group.
