Ava Gardner, a stunning, wisecracking film star. Great name but so popular now it's lost a bit of its glamour, IMO.

Boring name was interesting in 2008 but done to death ever since.

Adeline is fresh & Arianna is becoming more popular - much prefer these A names Wink

There are not many Ava's where I live. It's not common everywhere.

My daughters middle name, I decided on it while sat waiting to register her , didn't realise it was so popular but there are loads of them around. We have a few at my DDs preschool and two in my sons class.

I love it but prefer spelling Eva, just my own pronounciation of Eva is the same as Ava when most people pronounce Eva 'Ee-va' i'm just odd :)

I really wanted it for this dd but dp said no plus i know i'd hate spelling it Ava and poor dd would be stuck correcting people all her life if i dpelt it Eva.

"My first thought would be "oh, another one". It's a nice name but everywhere you look there is another Ava/Eva.
Sorry."

Exactly that Seriously it's like the Claire or Louise of the late 70's/early 80's. There are lots of great names, put some effort in < That's what I think about my own parents giving me a stupid common name, really is that the best you could come up with?
