Noelle for a Christmas baby?

Not PG myself, just heard this for a little girl born around xmas. I quite like it, but wonder if it's a bit twee? Would you name a December baby something xmas-related?

It's very much a dated (but not dated enough to have returned as fashionable) name for me. The Noelles I know of would be in their fifties or sixties.

I think it's lovely! Didn't realise it was popular in the 50s - I only know it from Uma Thurman's character in The Truth About Cats and Dogs and that princessy teen girl in that teenage dirtbag song that was out a few years ago. So I've always thought it was quite a glamorous name!

Natalie is also nice for a Christmas baby and there are, of course, the obvious ones Holly and Ivy.

As a Christmas Day baby ....it's horrible IMHO.

It's bad enough getting all the comments " Ooh only one present for you then ! "

Fuck off ... I don't get short changed and in all fairness to my parents they made sure my birthday was always celebrated properly after the queen's speech.
Glad to have a normal name Grin

Yes, I suppose it would be a bit annoying that your name draws attention to the fact that your were born at Christmas (a rubbish time to be born IMO).

I still think the name itself is quite nice though!

Not sure about giving it to a Christmas baby though, and then if not a Christmas baby, when else would you use it? It would be a bit random to call a child born in May Noelle.

My birthday is a week before Christmas, and so to be given a Christmassy name, you'll feel almost defined by the season, which is overload IMO.

Due boxing day here. I didn't want a Christmas name but want welsh in there somewhere.

I found out Celyn is Welsh for holly and I really like it.
