Struggling with nice Indian baby boys names

My husband and I just cannot find a nice Indian (Hindi) boys name. My husband is English so we want something that is a bit of a mix and more importantly that he can pronounce!

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

There's a little boy at music group called Arun which is lovely. Possibly I might be swayed by the fact that he had the most beautiful face on any child ever except my own :o

We had exactly the same problem, and thankfully it turns out that we're having a girl. It depends on whether you mind a name being pronounced differently by non-Hindi speakers (eg., Arun tends to be pronounced 'Aaron' by people unfamiliar with the Hindi name, and Milan is more likely to be pronounced like the Italian city) or not.

The only name we found that is pronounced the same way is Neel/Neil. I also quite like Rohan, but DH hated it, and said that it sounded like a 6 foot Viking/something from the Lord of the Rings. I don't mind the Lord of the Rings association, but I can understand the dissappointment if people expect a 6 foot Viking and instead find a short Indian-Jewish geek (the likely result, given our heritage and interests)

Oh, and some more: Surya, Mitra/Mitya, and we'd also considered Kiran (though its quite likely to be spelt like the Irish name Kieran, and probably sounds quite Irish as well to most British people).

I know a Tarun, Tejen and Kishna. They're beautiful names.

A friend has a son named Munjoben but he is always called Joben and I think that's lovely.

I like Vik, but is that a nicknames/shortened form?

I look on indianhindunames.com (assuming you are Hindu?) My DH is Indian (Tamil Hindu) and I am white British.

I know two gorgeous half indian half english little boys and their names are Arun and Rohan. Great names IMO

My friend is tyc now and for a boy likes Harris (i think thats how its spelt)

My Hindu friend has a jai. Short for Jayesh, I believe.
