Ok have posted to get some help earlier and food this very helpful so would appreciate some insights about my final list.

Honor
Anya
Bethan
Ola
Molly
Rosa
Willa
Cora
Laura
Heather
Lola

And although I prefer 2 syllables I am adding Georgiana, Rhiannon and susannah (zanna nn) :D

Thoughts? Anything you think will become too popular or too trendy today and will date badly or is too similar to something else that falls into these categories?

Also what is your favourite?

Cora is my fave by a long shot. I also love Cara and Clara in a similar vein.

Doiodledandy · 12/05/2013 22:26

Out of your list Anya and Molly are my favourites.

Snazzynewyear · 12/05/2013 22:28

Susannah is lovely. I also like Anya though I prefer Anna.

GretaGarbage · 12/05/2013 22:30

I like Bethan and Orla

barnet · 12/05/2013 22:37

Zanna for Susannah) is great. (Sanna is also a scandinavian name)
Also Honor, Rosa, Cora.

mummybare · 12/05/2013 22:48

Molly, Anya, Rosa and Cora are my favourites. In that order. Lovely names.

justhayley · 12/05/2013 22:53

Anya and Cora are my favs there

forgetmenots · 12/05/2013 23:14

Honor - nice but it depends on your accent (seriously sounds awful in mine)
Anya - nice
Bethan - nice, much prefer it to Bethany
Ola - like Orla a lot, not Ola though (looks unfinished to me)
Molly - not keen, too cutesy
Rosa - nice
Willa - not sure!
Cora - nice
Laura - too 80s for me
Heather - again too 80s for me
Lola - really dislike

I only like Rhiannon out of the longer names. Favourites would be Cora, Rosa, Anya. But if Ola is actually Orla, that's my favourite.

cece · 12/05/2013 23:19

Honor - lovely
Anya - nice
Bethan -OK
Ola - OK
Molly - OK
Rosa - OK, prefer Rosie myself
Willa - bit trying too hard for me
Cora - OK bit old lady
Laura - alright
Heather- alright
Lola - not so keen on this one.

Out of your list I think Honor is by far the nicest. Classy and stylish.

nicelyneurotic · 13/05/2013 03:02

I also think Honor is the nicest name on your list, followed by Cora and Heather. Also quite like your DH's suggestion Jennifer.

Peevish · 13/05/2013 09:28

Again, did you mean Orla, not Ola? Nice, fairly common Irish name, but if you are based in England, the non-rhotic accents will pronounce it 'Ola', which is (a) wrong and (b) not pretty. I know Irish UK based parents regularly being irritated by this kind of mispronunciation.

Cora or Honor.

Pixieonthemoor · 13/05/2013 18:41

Love Honor, Willa, Cora and Georgiana (but only pronounced Georgiarrrna and not Georgiayna). There is a character in one of the Wodehouse/Wooster novels called Cora Pirbright and she goes by the nn Corky which I think is super cute!

Bonsoir · 13/05/2013 18:43

From your list I like, in order of preference:

  1. Laura
  2. Honor

I hate: Lola, Ola, Willa, Bethan, Heather

OrangeFootedScrubfowl · 13/05/2013 18:54

Bethan - Don't like
Ola - Indifferent
Molly - Bit popular
Rosa - Like
Willa - Don't like
Cora - Like
Laura - Like
Heather - Don't like
Lola - Bit popular
Georgiana - Indifferent

TwoTearsInABucket · 13/05/2013 18:56

I like Laura - asked about this one on MN only the other day!

Honor is nice, it is also a slightly crazy aunt of mine (and not in a good way). But I still like the name.

Heather is ok, but not keen on the rest.
