I'm Irish and dh is English, yet we have a Welsh last name.
We have been discussing future names and really like Ty, but not sure why. I like names like Bronwyn, but would like to have an Irish rather than Welsh feel. What would you suggest?

Ruairi for a boy and Cara for a girl.

Tallyra · 27/04/2013 23:22

ooh, I like Ruairi but have no idea how to say it (forgot to mention I'm only Irish by blood, not upbringing!).

Sister's name is too close to Cara for comfort though.

Ruairi is very close to RUHR-ee.
Would you consider
Ronan
Declan
Lorcan
Killian or Cillian
Daragh

For a girl, how about
Maeve
Orla
Finola
Eily (a nn for Eileen that is much nicer than Eileen imo)
Alannah
Tara
Erin

mathanxiety · 28/04/2013 03:12

Or maybe you already have a Tara??

Tallyra · 28/04/2013 09:30

Tara and Killian are my fav from them Smile
Not sure about Maeve, it feels a little dated to me, but the rest are good. Thanks!
