Sander

I've always loved the Dutch boy's name Sander but don't think I'd ever use it outside of the Netherlands. Both due to pronunciation and the fact it might be perceived as no different to Painter, Joiner or Plumber which don't appeal!

I love Xander (as a nn for Alexander) and was tempted to use it myself. But not Sander at all, sorry.

I do like Xander. Just a totally different name. Sander's pronounced more like Sunder.. Although depending on your accent that might be totally incorrect.

I know when I'm beaten though and without a glimmer of hope I'll bin that one again.

I know a Sander. I think it is quite a normal name, particularly if one or more of the parents are foreign.

Don't know if this is any help, but there used to be an actor called Sandor Eles. I think he was Hungarian by birth.

It depends how you would pronounce the 's' because if I saw 'sander' wrote down I would pronounce it 'xander'
Btw I much prefer this spelling of 'Xandur' as its pretty rare & the pronunciation is different , more Oomph on the 'U' lol iyswim

Fairly normal name where I'm from (English speaking country). No one has ever confused any of the Sander's I've known with a power tool.
