Bertram....cute!

picnicbasketcase · 17/04/2013 11:50

I don't think either is particularly lovely but Bertram is much better than Bertrand.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 17/04/2013 14:26

Bertram.

fussychica · 17/04/2013 15:53

Why is everyone suddenly going for names of old men down the pub - Wilf, Stan, Bert etc? They don't sound like classics to me like William, Henry, Joseph etc just old.

I bet if you had asked about names like these a couple of years ago/in a couple of years time most people would say don't do it. Perhaps I'm wrong - I hope so for all these little lads who sound like old men already.

Sorry.

JambalayaCodfishPie · 17/04/2013 15:57

I don't like either, sorry.

Pixieonthemoor · 17/04/2013 16:02

Bertram - sweet!

usualsuspect · 17/04/2013 16:12

Neither.

Fragglewump · 17/04/2013 16:13

I think they are both a bit ugly. Sorry x

MrsBungle · 17/04/2013 16:15

Neither, sorry!

DribbleWiper · 17/04/2013 20:36

Bertram (Wooster) rather than Bertrand (Russell)

BNmum · 17/04/2013 20:50

Bertram, it's a fab name!

ipswitch · 18/04/2013 17:14

I dont like either name much , sorry too.

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad · 18/04/2013 18:50

The question wasn't 'tell me what you think of these names', but 'which name'. Rude.

FWIW, I like Bertram, OP.

HeatherJ27 · 18/04/2013 19:49

I really like Bertram - it is the name of my fantasy dog. :) You might like Bramwell too.

Bertram maybe has a little edge with me, as it feels a little less fussy and doesn't have the risk of 'randy' as a nn. Although the link to Bertrand Russell is also cool.

Ignore the haters, I think both are fab!

SouthernComforts · 19/04/2013 12:30

Please imagine either of those names being called out on the register on the first day of secondary school. Even worse, he might even have to wear a stick on name badge.

Sad

I love both these names! Bertram slightly tops Bertrand. Great taste!
