How would you pronounce it on first glance?

Lovely, I know a Romy, pronounced row-me

I know an adult one and she is sweet and gorgeous. I've heard it pronounced both row-me and ro-me but mainly somewhere in between.

I love it, but I would say Romy to rhyme with Bomby ifyswim. Although I have just asked my husband and sister and have been told "No, no and thrice no it's Row me"

Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion springs to mind. That's how I know how to pronounce it!

I would have had that name but dh did not like - but we would have pronounced it Row (a boat, not argue) - mee.

When I joined mn my first username was Romy7. Within minutes of my first post, I had a message from an mner asking if she knew me in rl.

We were out today and heard a father call after a little girl- 'Romily' which sounded lovely.

Nice but prefer Romilly which is lovely.

Reminds me of Romy Schneider - a german/austrian/french actress. I think her full name was Rosemarie

I have a Romy so yes of course I love it. She gets called Romany sometimes which can be annoying x

It's Roh-me, to rhyme with foamy.

If it was meant to rhyme with Tommy it would have 2 m's.

I know a grown up and rather formidable Romy (Roh-me). I think I'd like it more as a shortening for a longer name, but that's just because I like names with options.

Romy is a great name. How about michelle for a middle name?!

I have a Romilly. We assumed she would become a Romy over time (and she still may) but at the moment we don't shorten it.
