Baby names

Boys names that aren't biblical and don't end with an S!

I seem to really like biblical names (I'm a staunch atheist) or names that end in S (my surname starts with an S) for boys, please take a look at the list below and see if you can suggest anything I might like that doesn't fall im to these two categories! Would also rather it wasn't in the top 150 or unisex! I'm too fussy aren't I?

Amos, Solomon, Abraham, Seth, Rufus, Curtis, Travis, Miles, Angus, Otis, Jasper, Sebastian, Rowan.

If it helps my fave girls names are Claudia, Saffron, Henrietta and Clementine.

I wouldn't use it myself but I don't think it's geekish, could be quite cute actually!

The Amos + S thing really depends on your name. Amos Stevens to me sounds ok because of the hard consonant 't', Amos Simons not so much...

I like Wilf and Wilfred and Wilbur but they could all easily be shortened to Will which is a bit overdone. Same as Finbar, Finnegan, Fintan, Phinneas, I like them all but Finn has become a bit yawn.

Well I have Amos and Marvin to think about at least!

Would like more opinions on using Amos with a surname beginning with S though!

I think Marvin is pretty cool.
Keeping with the southpark theme how about Kenneth?

I don't think anyone has mentioned Victor yet.

What South Park theme? Have I missed something?!

We had the same name requirements, save the no "s" thing, but I don't have the document to hand, here's a couple off the top of my head and if you're really curious I'll pull out the proper list for you later...

What I can remember...

Go for a 70s name if you want to be ahead of the curve, defo won't be any Kevins or Brians in the top 100!

Have you seen this website? It shows the number of children each year with each name. So really, some names in the top 50 have less than 1000 children being given them each year.

Sorry but Jude IS a biblical name, Jude is the penultimate book of the New Testament. Great name though so don't let that put you off Grin

So is Amos but the OP has that as a possibility.

correct me if I'm talking bollocks, but aren't biblical names, just old names that people in the bible happened to have?

it would be like someone saying 500 years from now that they won't name their kid Robert or Sophie because by then the di Vinci code will be the new religion.

pick a name you like.

El- really? Family live in Italy and have a Neo. Neo/ neon is a Common name there, and most children are named after relatives ( current Neo is named after grandfather making it 60+ years old at least)
