...a confident, successful young woman, what would you name her?
I have completely pinched this idea from an earlier thread about naming a baby girl who was handed to you - but it's easy to think of cute baby girl names!

Another vote for Elizabeth.

pigletpower we have remarkably similar tastes!

My name has appeared here, as has the middle name we have chosen. It's funny how perceptions of a name changes over time isn't it?! I love reading your suggestions!

Cate-Thankyou! Our DS is called Dexter Miles[named before that damn TV show!] and I also think they are both strong male names-called him Dexie when little but now he likes Dex!

Miranda, Felicity, Elizabeth

Sophie, Caroline. Lots of names come to mind, but the thing they have in common is that they are from "my generation". Newly popular names and recently revived names don't feel like a confident adult name to me as I associate them with babies and toddlers, but by the time they are adults they will be just right too.

pigletpower Dexter is a fabulous name!

I love Jennifer, Harriet, Felicity and Tabitha.
Jennifer is a lovely classic name with pretty nns, yet rarely used these days.
