Annabel goes really well with your 2. I wouldn't go for something like Arabella as that is quite a 'posh' name so might make you feel worse about Ethan over the. Annabel is a classic, beautiful name without the super post connotations or being super popular so I think is a much better fit.

For Gods sake! This 'don't analyse OP's other names' shit is really getting on my nerves.If OP did not want people to look at her other childrens names and discuss names that may go with them, the OP wouldn't have put up other kids names.I'm getting quite pissed off with other posters 'gentle nudging'.Fuck it,let people name their kids William,Edward and Wayne,eh?

At no point have I asked for comment on them.

I will state again my worry with Ethan has been its popularity. To me popular names mean those used by all. I have made no mention of posh/chav, I just don't think like that.

As it happens as someone hinted earlier, I live in the
Home Counties, in an affluent area and there are many Ethan's here. It seems to me it's only in the online world that some people seem to want to condemn it as chavy (whatever that means)

Thank you everyone who has taken the time to comment on my list and puts forward other suggestions. I really do appreciate it. I had only avoided coming back to the post as it seemed to keep circling around to my son's name.

I like Edward best for a boys name, Sebastion, Ethan and Edward go well together IMO and for a girl Sebastian, Ethan and Annie go best.

Fwiw I always thought Ethan was quite a 'posh' name, not chavvy...? I like the name Ethan and it was on my short list for a boys name, but we went with Lewis instead. My friend also had Ethan as a short list name, but went with Ewan. Not too popular at all, I also live in the home counties and I know a 4 year old Ethan and that's it.

I just wanted to apologise as my last comment was a bit flouncy.

But Ethan is my son and I obviously feel very protective of him. However indirect, it's hard not to take any negative comments regarding him/my choice for him personally. (Not helped by pregnancy hormones making me extra sensitive I'm sure)

Hector - quite like it, bbut I prefer Victor. Hector is one of those trendy names taht people on mumsnet think is very rare, but there are a few out there now.
Barnaby - ok. It goes with Sebastian. Barney is a good nick name.
Casper - ok, not mad about it.
Ted/Teddy (Edward) - prefer nn Red for Edward

Annie (Annabel/Annabella) Prefer Annabel to Annabella. Annie is nice.
Ottilie -no, makes me think of a doily. It is really is awful
Arabella - no. Reminds me of farming
Ophelia - no. She drowned herself didn't she. Really. No.
Autumn - ok, but not at all in the same style as your other names. This is more modern and American. But I do quite like it. Sebastian and Autumn??

Jemima is in the same style as Sebastian I think, but is a bible name so goes with Ethan, so for a girl I suggest to you give you Jemima

Your son's names are beautiful and (without getting into the previous debate as I have no interest in doing that) Ethan was named particularly well if you consider he was early, as in Hebrew his name means both permanence and strength...
Sebastian means 'revered' which is also a lovely meaning.

Since having my dd a couple of weeks ago and the naming process which started , I have been really interested in meanings of names...

From your list I like:

Edward (prosperous/wealth) and Autumn (self explanatory)

Other names to consider:

Ines (pure/holy)
Alice (noble)
