Shr0- stop it, stop it. I was promised when I named DD that enough people felt like mewkins that it was safe from a surge. It's a bloody brilliant name though. Absolutely love it.

Maybe it just reminds me of someone I don't like very much... but a very good friend has it as a middle name and is embarrassed by it to be quite frank.

Ah, the Thatcher thing. I'm no fan either, but practically every family has a Margaret around that generation. It's not like it's Adolf . In real life it seems far more likely to remind someone of an aunt or a grandma.

To be quite frank, I'd be embarrassed by some of the names people choose on here and are met with rapturous responses, but it's just personal taste. Just like I can't stand certain tv programmes, or drinks, or foods, or music which others love. And I suspect that they can't stand some things I adore. Just because a friend is embarrassed doesn't make it an embarrassing name.
