Depends where you are, Scottish. Pronouncing Marie as 'Marry' is the default way in France, eg Marie-Claire, Marie-France, Marie-Cecile.

PriyaKoothrappali · 25/06/2013 07:46

It used to be the default way of pronouncing Marie in England too. I don't assume anyway Scottishmummy. Just giving suggestions of names I love and did not use for my DD.

badtime · 25/06/2013 10:21

Yeah, Marie Stopes and Marie Lloyd, for example. Pronouncing it 'Ma-REE' is relatively recent.
