After a mere 13 days we may finally have decided on a name. Woohoo.

My wife and I both dont love that many boys names at all, and almost none of the names the others liked. So after a lot of ignoring the issue, then getting depressed about it and then finally starting negotiations more laboured than ones to resolve the Israeli Palestinian issues we came up with a final list of names that we both could just about live with, if not entirely love.

Max - me
Bruce - me
Jonny - wife
Alex - wife
Jason - wife
Luke - both, but very "lukewarm" no pun intended

In the end I think we are probably going to go with Bruce.

Just curious on peoples opinions on that.

Also curious as to what people think about what happens when one parent gets "their" name choice, in this case mine? We already have a Mia, which was my wifes choice, but I liked it a lot too.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks... ta

No.

Alex and Mia sound nice together.

EssieW · 13/03/2013 07:55

Bruce is great. It was on our list for DS.

TobyLerone · 13/03/2013 07:58

Bruce and Luke are awful!

googietheegg · 13/03/2013 08:22

Bruce is fab! There are hundreds of max/maxes

googietheegg · 13/03/2013 08:22

SnowyGrey · 13/03/2013 08:27

Mia and Max sound good together.

TobyLerone · 13/03/2013 10:43

Maxi is a car/boiler.

Cwtchbach · 13/03/2013 12:56

I think I prefer Bryce to Bruce but I'm not as shocked by Bruce as I thought I would be...

Shr0edinger · 13/03/2013 13:02

oh no, Bryce has that unisex nouveau moderne made in america vibe, that one letter different ruins it.

Bruce. Don't fuck with it. Wink

BeeBopDingALing · 13/03/2013 13:47

I knew a couple of Bryces at school (born late 70's). Bryce is better then Bruse though.

BeeBopDingALing · 13/03/2013 13:47

*Bruce

thegreylady · 13/03/2013 14:48

I only like Luke and Alex from your list. For me Bruce is too caricature Australian and should have Sheila for his sister :)
Mia is beautiful.

MyLittleDiva · 13/03/2013 14:52

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/03/2013 21:10

I like Luke. Really don't like Bruce, sorry.

ravenAK · 13/03/2013 21:21

Was it just me thought you'd agreed on Woohoo?

It has a certain something...Wink.

LynetteScavo · 13/03/2013 21:23

Oooh. I love the name Bruce! Smile

BlingBubbles · 13/03/2013 21:23

Don't like Bruce, sorry, I think Max and Alex are the best from the list but I would rather go for Alexander than Alex.

Cotapaxi · 13/03/2013 21:25

Bruce Forsyth - sorry it's not good.

Alex is lovely and yes Alexander on the birth certificate.

harleyd · 14/03/2013 09:48

bruce dickinson. legend.

zipzap · 14/03/2013 10:09

I read the thread title and for a moment thought that you'd decided to go for Woohoo as a name.

Doh. Really must wake up this morning!

nicelyneurotic · 14/03/2013 12:26

I like Max the best from your list. My advice is to hold off from making a decision until after your baby is here. I went off almost all the names on my list once DD was born. My favourites didn't seem to suit her and others did.
