Like I said, remarkably early (for DH and I!) we seem to have found a girl's and boy's name we both like!

Neither are names I had particularly considered before... I really like them but have (totally over thinking pregnant brain) uncertainties about people's reactions. I don't mind - as I say, I like them - but am intrigued!

We have a Matilda and call her Tilda.

Names are Emma or Hugo.

Is Emma too early 1990s? Will she have an older person's name.... Like meeting a 20/30 year old now called Susan or something would be odd? Or is it classic, as in Emma Hamilton or Jane Austin's Emma?

With Hugo... Are we mad to love it? We do!

Thanks - gut reactions v welcome! Grin

I like Hugo and Matilda but Tilda reminds me of the brand of rice...

I think Emma is a classic but to me it seems a bit boring as I know so many in their 20/30s.

Love both!

Emma is more of a cyclical name than a true classic, its popularity comes and goes. It came back into fashion in the 1970s and I remember my mother being appalled because, to her, it was "an old lady's name".

Love Emma, one of my faves. Not as keen on Hugo but if you like it, go for it!
