Yes or no?

I guess would be mostly shortened to Seren by others

It's pretty, but I'm a bit wary of 'attribute' names. Once met a v solemn girl called joy, and my dd is so fiery that something like serenity wouldn't have suited at all Grin
Seren is nice, also serena? Trinity?

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 13/02/2013 04:48

a) The idea of a toddler named Serenity is making me laugh.
b) What happens if your DD is dithering in the playground? "Serenity! NOW!"?

FellatioNels0n · 13/02/2013 04:49

I think it is very pretty.

Panzee · 13/02/2013 07:57

Loving Serenity Now. Smile
It is a beautiful name, but I am also wary of attribute names after meeting a rather chunky Willow and hearing a mum tear strips off an Angel for hitting Grin

germyrabbit · 13/02/2013 07:57

sounds like a space program or film

thistlelicker · 13/02/2013 07:59

Why do people come up with bonkers names like these? Suppose each to their own!!!

justhayley · 13/02/2013 20:13

Seren is lovely - serenity is lovely if your opening a spa. Sorry

ThreeBeeOneGee · 13/02/2013 20:15

"Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand..."

ThreeBeeOneGee · 13/02/2013 20:16

"I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me."

HenriettaChicken · 13/02/2013 20:18

Noooooo!!!!!

nicelyneurotic · 13/02/2013 23:23

I like it, pretty name

SminkoPinko · 13/02/2013 23:31

Nice word/name but she'd be bound to be a bolshie fucker very spirited child. Seren or Serena are lovely and presumably mean something similar but are less in your face "live up to this virtue" names.

poppydaisy · 14/02/2013 06:26

Are all Graces graceful?

SminkoPinko · 14/02/2013 23:41

No. but Grace has transcended its virtue meaning (ie nobody really thinks about what it means) because it's so popular.

poppydaisy · 15/02/2013 10:03

The same will happen to Serenity if more people (e.g. the op) use it. Same with names like Constance, Liberty, Verity - all virtue names that are fairly popular as names.

Also, I'd rather have a name meaning 'calmness' than say 'crippled' or 'blind' for example.

McKayz · 15/02/2013 10:06

I love it. Also I don't think that having a toddler called Serenity is a bad thing either. You can't always live up to the meaning of your name. DS2 is Dylan and is certainly not a God of the sea.
