am expecting 4th baby soon. already have 3 girls. might be 'outing' myself here but don't think their names are too radically unusual so here goes:

Aurora Elizabeth
Nancy Jane
Pearl Alexandra

DH and I did argue a bit over choosing them but compromised (and i will admit i did get my own way quite a bit). I love the names we picked. they all suit them very well. HOWEVER we can't agree on names for this baby. We have not found out gender. Here are the names I like

Rita - dh says it reminds him of Rita Ora that pop singer. i think it's cute and fun.
Isadora - dh says dora the explorer
Valentina - dh just says ridiculous name
Santana - i will admit this is a new addition possibly due to watching Glee with eldest dd in a hormone fuelled state. i think its v v pretty. dh says we cannot possibly under any circumstances name a baby after Glee.

DH choices are

Iona - which I think i could possibly grow to like
Isis - not keen
Ivy - already know 3 under 4
Sophia - not even kidding very nice name but there are about 5 in school and 4 in nursery

Don't even get me started on boys names. The only one I like REMOTELY is Alexander because it's a family name and would nn. Lexy.

Any ideas would be welcomed. Opinions, compromise etc!

Love Mara, Valentina and Keir
My DD is friends with a Valentina, it's never shortened even by the parents
Good luck!

MildDrPepperAddiction · 05/02/2013 15:46

Iona. Lovely name. Not fussed on the rest.

Gwennan · 05/02/2013 16:08

Mara is the name Naomi takes in the Old Testament - it means 'bitter'. I think that meaning would put me off a little bit.

Aurora, Nancy & Pearl are very pretty names.

I would suggest considering the following (bearing in mind what you said about liking Spanish-sounding names):
Adelaide
Alessia
Alethea
Antonia
Belen
Camilla
Carolina
Clementina
Eden
Eulalia
Florence
Francesca
Gaia
Honor
Iris
Isla
Jemima
Lois
Lucia
Luna
Mariana
Mireia (meer-AY-ah)
Ophelia/Ofelia
Penelope
Selena
Seraphina
Serena
Stella
Natalia
Victoria
Xanthe

This is random but I recently found a home video of myself and my little sister in the bath aged 5 and 3 and we are playing with our My Little Ponies, I tell her that my name is Isadora and she says that her name is Aurora :) FWIW I think that Dora would be a really cute little nickname.

Cwtchbach · 06/02/2013 10:18

I like Iola which is a Welsh name pronounced Yola as in Iolanda (not sure whether that is Spanish or not)

WorkingtoohardMama · 06/02/2013 10:24

I love ramona!

JaneLane · 06/02/2013 12:49

My 3 DSs (7, 5 and 3) want this baby to be named Luis-Suarez if it's a boy (think my dH has been coercing them!) or Merida if it's a girl - probably because we've just bought brave on DVD.

Surprisingly I won't be going for the full name of a footballer as a hyphenated first name!

mummybare · 06/02/2013 15:37

I like Rita, Isadora, Iona and Isis from your lists.

How about:

Iris
Ramona
Aurelie?

Or for boys:

Leon
Cassius
Milo
Felix?

Congratulations on number 4!

FlorenceMattell · 06/02/2013 15:42

Shouldn't be on this thread, work to do ..
But love your daughter's names.
My advice ,wait until,he or she is born and they will tell you. They will send you the name telepathically, because babies are very clever, never under estimate a baby :)
You have 42 days plenty of time
Baby is fine in the meantime.

mummybare · 06/02/2013 15:43

Ah, x posted with pretty much everyone there - forgot to press post earlier! - but glad I was on the right track with Ramona! :)
