Love samuel as a name think its a lovely boys name.
Not to keen on Amelia but prefer it over Maria.

I think that James (or Jamie/Jim/Jimmy) and Maria are very mainstream (certainly no questions would be asked) but slightly less common than Amelia or Sam, so that's what I would pick. One thing to think about is whether either 'go' with your other child's very unusual name. I don't think names should be too 'matchy' but a combination that is very different like say Blue and Tom might be a bit odd.

There is nothing to be mean about here -- they are all perfectly nice names so don't worry about that.

I like both Samuel and Jamie, although I would go for James. You never know, and it just makes more choices.

I love Amelia but it has got too popular for me. Personally, I don't really like Amy and the connection to Amelia, while not illogical, might not be clear to everyone.

Maria is such a classic you really can't go wrong. It is rare to find SUCH a classic that people aren't really using, so I think I would go with that.

Why not go James rather than Jamie? I love James.
