any thoughts on it?

The person who is thinking about it when her son is born has a 16yr old daughter named Brooklyn.

I personally think it's too much (she doesn't mind me posting on here) any other suggestions you may have?

My friend is quite Unconventional.

*name.

Thanks all.

For the person who said she is copying the Beckham - that's not strictly true. Her daughter is 16 yrs, the Beckham boy is about 13 years old.

She is stuck on London or Ed. As of now.

Ed ? As is in Ed for Edinburgh?

yousankmybattleship · 10/01/2013 17:27

Some great suggestions on here already. I'm loving Grimsby and Leamington.

How about Hull?

fluffiphlox · 10/01/2013 17:29

Ed as in Edmonton, I presume.

noddyholder · 10/01/2013 17:31

Could be cool if you are otherwise chav tastic. There was a musician in the 80s called Derry can't remember the band.

delilah88 · 10/01/2013 17:31

lol

delilah88 · 10/01/2013 17:34

Kew. Now that's actually quite nice!

Mimms, after South Mimms service station?

MerylStrop · 10/01/2013 17:35

He will shorten it to "Don" like a 65 year old bloke

Her daughter will abbreviate hers to Lyn

Both will crave lives of quiet conventionality

(I know a baby boy called Derry. People say "Terry??? like Terry Wogan?")

Pancakeflipper · 10/01/2013 17:35

Kew is cool.... Liking that. Unless their surname is Garden.

delilah88 · 10/01/2013 17:37

yes -- and if so she should push the boat out and go for Doncaster!

expatinscotland · 10/01/2013 17:37

Your friend is not unconventional. She is stoopid.

noddyholder · 10/01/2013 17:38

My sisters cat called putney

deleted203 · 10/01/2013 17:38

Scunthorpe? Cunt for short......Blush

Pancakeflipper · 10/01/2013 17:38

Once saw a sign to a little hamlet called WindyHorse Pump.

LaCiccolina · 10/01/2013 17:39

With others, hardly unconventional. Boringly conventional sleb like.

Pancakeflipper · 10/01/2013 17:40

And my BIL loves the name of the village called Twathats.

LaCiccolina · 10/01/2013 17:40

Ed??? Better than first but not hinting at this magic personality she's got?

yousankmybattleship · 10/01/2013 17:44

Twathat? Genius. Your friend to use that!

Gintonic · 10/01/2013 17:44

Agree it ought to be a part of London, how's about hoxton, dalston or Brixton?

ComeAlongPond · 10/01/2013 17:45

How about this?

Pancakeflipper · 10/01/2013 17:46

Or the village of Wetwang.

Remember Richard Whitely of Countdown fame? He was mayor there.

rhondajean · 10/01/2013 17:50

Derry was from emf and it was short for Derek, which isn't quite such a rock and roll name.

He may have been the one who could fit an entire lemon inside his foreskin.

iseenodust · 10/01/2013 17:50

Wetwang still has a famous mayor - it's Paul the BBC weatherman.

I think Wetwang would be nn wellywang.

Of London I prefer Bloomsbury.

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 10/01/2013 17:51

I quite like the name London.

I wouldn't want to live there, or give the name to my child if I did live there, but its not awful is it.
