Can't find a name i like! - 1st time mummy!

Hello! First time mum age 23 - new to this so don't understand the abbreviations i've seen on other posts!

Never thought it would be so hard to find a name i like!

I want something quirky but girly and not too common... Also looking for a modern name!

Names i like the sound of but not sure at they are for me are...

Coraline
Liberty
Leonie

Middle name would either be Mae (due in May) or Lily (my favourite flower)

I know its my choice but none of my family like those names - so its now a secret until i find the perfect name for my princess!

Any name suggestions/opinions would be appreciated!
Robyn x

Coraline is absolutely gorgeous!

LIberty and leonie also very nice.

How about:

Genevieve
Iona
Celeste
Estelle
Sasha
Emmy
Laurel
Lorelei
Delphine/Delphi
Elise

And don't share any of your names with friends and family, they will always say yuk to your names just because there is something they like better. She is your baby so choose something you like!

Hello,OP, have you name changed half way through? Are you also JustBabyNMe if so, I think alliteration is good in a name, ie Holly Hill is fine,
I knew a Sally Straw once and she was brill!

I love Coraline! It's different and that's probably why your mum and family don't like it. People often stick their noses up at unusual names if they're traditionalists. Coralie is also nice!

You've lovely taste in names, have faith in your choice and don't tell anyone until the baby is born!

I think Coraline is lovely. Elegant, feminine and not overused.
I only know boys named Quinn and find it very masculine.

I've just had my first and she was nameless for 2 days. Our favourites didn't suit her so I'd say draw up a list and wait to see what your little one looks like.
I'm not so keen on coraline but really like coralie. Liberty is definitely not my cup of tea although I do like the nn libby. Leonie is nice. How about Rosalie? Or Cora?

Or how about Ariella Mae?

I am not that great at modern, but I think some of these have a modern, fresh feminine feel to them even though they are not modern names. How about

Perdita
Nina
Esmeralda
Fern
Mirabel
Lucinda
Cara
Xanthe
Zinnia
Willow
Farrah
Lilith
Polly
Una
Nell
Antonia
Valentina
Juniper
Thalia
Laurel

Any of those any good?
I love Coraline from your list.

I loved Coraline but know they know perhaps i should change it to Coralie ! Ive neer heard that beefore and less likely to get confused with Caroline? That way i can still call her Cora for short!

Love your thinking ladies!

My MIL (mother in law)'s middle name is May, because she was born in May. I also know people with first names Avril and June, for similar reasons. They've all been a bit miffed all their lives that their parents were not more imaginative (although also quite relieved that they were not born in say, November).

Leonie is brilliant. Strong, yet cool and still pretty. I know a leonie - feisty, independent and caring person. If I hadn't been working with her at the time, I'd have used that name but it would have looked wierd then.

What about:
Dixie Mae

I was also going to suggest Indigo Lily, would be very pretty.

Or just call her Lily.

Coraline is too like the Tim Burton film for my taste.

Love India though! And China come to think of it.
Big fan of place names.

Maybe choose a less common flower name if you like Lily - Peonie and Posy are my favourites!
