We are expecting DC3 and have a girls name but are struggling for a boys name.
We are currently discussing the following. We like names that are known but not overused.

Spencer
Fletcher
Frazer
Elliott
Alistair

MTIA

I like all of them but Elliot (i think It's a very popular name too) particularly like Spencer.

HoHoHoHum · 27/12/2012 09:42

I like Fraser with the 's' spelling

Love Elliott

Like Alistair.

LynetteScavo · 27/12/2012 09:43

I like Spencer and Alistair and Frazer.

Elliot is OK, but I'm not mega keen.

Don't like Fletcher.

VisualiseAHorse · 27/12/2012 09:44

Love Fraser (with an s, not a z)

maxmillie · 27/12/2012 09:44

Spencer and Fraser are my favourites. Not keen on Alistair - middle aged man name in my mind. Are you in Scotland?

babaloulou · 27/12/2012 09:46

We are not in Scotland just like the names although we did notice a scottish theme appearing!! I suppose these are not names you hear in the South West therefore sit in our underused names criteria.

FWIW I am Scottish and I like all your names. Alistair is a bit older man but probably due a "grandad" revival. But consider this :-

Spencer- Spence
Fletcher- Fletch
Frazer- Fraze, Fraser
Elliott- El, Ellie, Elliot, Eliot, Eliott
Alistair- Ali

An "er" name I like is Asher.

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/12/2012 11:44

Fletcher or Elliot!

Not keen on the others, especially not Spencer.

I once knew twin boys called Spencer and Fraser though.

almapudden · 27/12/2012 12:11

I like Fraser, Elliott and Alistair. Not so keen on Fletcher or Spencer.

forgetmenots · 27/12/2012 14:18

I'm Scottish, so...
Alistair
Fraser (this spelling I prefer)
Elliott
Spencer (actually like this a lot, wouldn't use myself because it feels like the kind of name you have to be English to use and I see you're in the South West! So maybe go for it on this!)

Not keen on Fletcher, sorry. Like Dashiell and Stanley which in my head have a similar feel to some of yours.

DessieLou · 31/12/2012 03:53

love your list with the exception of Spencer which seems a bit wishy washy to me. Would definitely lose the Z in Fraser though. How about Gregor, Lorne, Stuart?

Booyhoo · 31/12/2012 04:05

elliot. if you really cant call him that then spencer. none of the rest.

shockers · 31/12/2012 04:19

Alistair... love it!

FellatioNelson · 31/12/2012 04:47

I hate Spencer, quite dislike Fletcher, like Elliott but it is quite common, really like Fraser and love Alistair.

FellatioNelson · 31/12/2012 04:48

oh and if you have Fraser spell it with an S.

lottiegarbanzo · 31/12/2012 04:52

Fraser or Alistair.

LetsKateWin · 31/12/2012 04:52

I like Elliott, Spencer and Fraser with an 's'

TheFallenNinja · 31/12/2012 08:15

As it goes I suppose the phrase what's in a name springs to mind, we called our daughter Avery, but now I just call her Ig on account of the noise she makes when she's grumbling.
