Need a brother for Elmer.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Snusmumriken · 22/12/2012 13:09

I think it sounds too much like 'Hovis'.

Bluestocking · 22/12/2012 13:10

Love, love, love Clovis - would have liked to use it for DS but DP vetoed it.

Thumbwitch · 22/12/2012 13:12

Never heard of it before reading Hector Hugh Munro's Saki - and I was quite taken with it! Wouldn't be brave enough to have used it myself.

MERLYPUSS · 22/12/2012 13:44

Reminds me of Clover. I really like it but you'd get 'the look' when you mentioned it I think.

Ummofumbridge · 22/12/2012 13:45

No. I instantly thought of bread.
Clover is nice though.

SantaFlashesHisBoobsALot · 22/12/2012 13:47

Half way between Clover and Hovis. So... Bread or butter.

DowntonSprouts · 22/12/2012 13:48

My UGG boots are Clovis. So no.

meditrina · 22/12/2012 13:52

Lovely name, and I'd assume erudite historian parents.

BarbaraWoodlouse · 22/12/2012 13:54

meditrina thinks erudite historian parents, I think noisy tiger Grin

meditrina · 22/12/2012 13:57

Tiger? What tiger?

I was thinking of the founder of the Merovingian Dynasty.

shriekingnora · 22/12/2012 14:00

I think my mate's cat.

PurpleTinsel · 22/12/2012 14:03

Agree with SantaFlashesHisBoobsALot.

It's a cross between Clover and Hovis.

Nooneelseisallowedafergus · 22/12/2012 14:32

Ahem, sorry, I was on a sat afternoon windup. Clovis to me is the noisy tiger (my ds1 is a bit obsessed with him at the mo) and Elmer is the patchwork elephant. And I'm not pregnant.
But, after the erudite historian comment, if I ever do have ds3, I will add it to my short list! Grin

AmberSocks · 22/12/2012 17:30

i like Clove,but not clovis or clover(marge)

BOFingSanta · 22/12/2012 17:37

Ha! You got The Fear, didn't you, and confessed too soon in case you got done for trolling, didn't you? Xmas Grin

I was going to say I thought it sounded a bit bovine.

My fantasy daft names are Maverick, Kermit, and Hoagy. And Ignatius, but I would seriously consider that one, because I like Iggy. Not sure about girls' names though.

copyandpaste · 24/12/2012 03:49

Agree with Santaflashes. Do not like

elah11 · 24/12/2012 19:56

Sorry I really dont like Clovis, makes me think of a Hovis/Clove combo :). How about Clover instead?

ManicMuppetMania · 24/12/2012 22:34

It's awful! I would prefer Clover by a mile.

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/12/2012 23:15

Even more dire than Cletus!

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/12/2012 00:23

I don't think it works in the UK,Hovis bread springs to mind.

As a pp said Clove could work though

Feckthehalls · 25/12/2012 01:25

not good. In fact very bad

jessjessjess · 25/12/2012 01:28

No please do not do this to your child!

nadruku14 · 27/04/2014 09:17

Love it. Intelligent parents

nadruku14 · 27/04/2014 09:18

Love it. A proper name for starters, intelligent parents, maybe with an aristocratic euro past?
