Marcheline · 27/11/2012 14:04

Help! This is a sister for Aurelia.

No idea why it is so important to me to find the right name, as she's not due until Feb, but for some reason I NEED to have the right name sorted (I think it's that I imagine that I will 'bond' more with the baby if I know her name; please don't flame me, I'm hormonal!)

Girls
Allegra
Amber
Camilla
Claudia
Francesca
Natalia
Sophia

Would be grateful for thoughts or other suggestions. Thanks all

I like Claudia and Amber. Really don't like Allegra and Camilla.

EvenIfYouSeeAPoppy · 27/11/2012 19:36

Francesca, Natalia or Sophia are my faves.

madmayday · 27/11/2012 19:45

What about these ones?

Aurelia & Mirabelle
Aurelia & Elodie
Aurelia & Juliette
Aurelia & Imogen
Aurelia & Rosalie

I soooooooo jacked these from another site! Wink Grin

Marcheline · 27/11/2012 20:48

Thanks mayday :)

Rosalie is alliterative and practically rhymes with our surname, I love Mirabel, Juliette and Imogen, but we can't have Juliette and SH doesn't like the other two.

It's crazy how difficult I'm finding it, and yet how bloody important it is to me! Is there something wrong with me?!

Francesca could be Frances

or what about:

Clara,
Anastasia/Tasia,
Fleur,
Charlotte/Lottie,
Jessemay,
Alicia

FeuDeSnowyRussie · 27/11/2012 22:46

Ooh I love Sophia Allegra - Allegra def works well as a 2nd name IMO.

Love Juliette and Imogen too.

FeuDeSnowyRussie · 27/11/2012 22:48

What about Iris or Rosamund?

Teapot13 · 27/11/2012 23:18

Allegra - sounds like a pharmaceutical brand
Amber - not a pretty, feminine sound
Camilla - don't like at all, and Parker-Bowles doesn't help
Claudia - like, but not stunning
Francesca - like a lot, but I agree about the nickname issue
Natalia - I like it
Sophia - I love this name, but SO popular

Josephine?
Antonina?
Cecilia?
Helena?
Vivian?
I second the Valentina suggestion above.

ditzydrawers · 28/11/2012 20:57

How about Marianne as an alternative to Marcheline?

also agree with Valentina, think it is special enough to go with Aurelia.

another one that i love love love is

Tatiana - i know it sounds very Russian, but it is a beautiful name, and again sounds lovely with Aurelia.

also thought of

Saskia

Angelica

Christabel

Christiana

Lorelei

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 28/11/2012 21:12

I love Valentina.
What about Seraphina?

SoftSheen · 28/11/2012 21:16

If you like the nn Tally, what about Talitha? A lovely and very underused name.

wigglesrock · 28/11/2012 21:21

4 of your names were on my shortlist for dd1 Grin We went with Sofia - she gets Fia as a nickname. My husband absolutely loves Claudia - we almost had a fight to the death -well some serious huffing when we didn't go with it for dd3.

Meringue33 · 28/11/2012 21:29

Chess
Fran
Franny
Francie

Milla is nice, for Camilla

DorisIsWaiting · 28/11/2012 21:30

Taliyah with nn Tally?

It has a lovely meaning too.

DorisIsWaiting · 28/11/2012 21:32

I wouldn't re-use a name from dd1 for dd2 it's not really fair that she doesn't get a name in her own right iyswim.

Inclusionist · 28/11/2012 21:34

I really think you need another Latin/ Roman name to go with Aurelia (which I love).

I really like Claudia on that basis but apparently it means disabled?

Flora?

My favorite on this thread would be Valentina though. Beautiful and matches really well. The only downside for me would be that I wouldn't like the nn Tina.

chocolateistheenemy · 28/11/2012 21:37

Guendalina? Taught one in Rome. She was lovely...

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 28/11/2012 21:38

I think Elisabetta is pretty cute too.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 28/11/2012 22:32

If Aurelia missed out on Emily as a middle, how about Emmeline?

MolotovCocktail · 29/11/2012 11:18

Hi Marcheline, I think I remember you posting about your unborn daughter's name before - Mirabel is gorgeous; it's a shame your DH is unconvinced!

I, like others, am not keen on Camilla, but I love Camille - is that a suitable alternative?

Meanwhile, here is a list from Nameberry that gives middle names for Airelia from the Edwardian era - hopefully, it'll help.

MolotovCocktail · 29/11/2012 11:19

Type-o there, sorry! Blush

Marcheline · 30/11/2012 15:05

Hi Molotov, thank you for link! There are some lovely names on there, I particularly like Viola, Althea and Decima (but I know DH will dislike all of them :()

I was right about Camille, friends of friends have a little boy with that name, I knew I hadn't just made it up!

I love Talitha, how is that pronounced? Emphasis on the 'i'?

Natalia is just gorgeous - as beautiful as Aurelia. I love Tali or Talia as nns. I also adore Francesca - nn Frannie
