DC number two, brother/sister to Noah.

Girls:

Daisy (which we love, but has kind of been vetoed due to it being so popular)
Olive
Maud
Arya, Ari for short (pronounced ah-reey-ah)
Vida

Boys:
Alvy
Morris
Ralph

Any others we might like?

Arya! Definitely Arya!

Is it going to be Ralph prn Rafe?

NewNames · 20/11/2012 17:51

Olive and Ralph Smile

12ylnon · 20/11/2012 18:01

No, Ralph as in 'Miss Hoover, i glued my head to my shoulder'... I can't think of any other famous Ralphs, not the best advert for the name really!

Ralph Fiennes. Pronounces it Rafe, which is the posh way. I'd go for that too, and Maud. Lovely Tennyson poem called that.

cookielove · 20/11/2012 18:18

Well i love Arya, huge game of thrones fan here i like the pronunciation Arhh-yahh

Flowerface · 20/11/2012 18:18

Arya as in Aryan? Not sure about the connotations of that one...

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/11/2012 18:20

I don't know who Miss Hoover is sorry!

I like Ralph. prn Ralph.

I prefer Rafe though. I'd also spell it Rafe, like Timothy Spalls son,Rafe Spall.

Ralph prn Rafe boggles my mind a bit!

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/11/2012 18:21

*Flowerface

I think the pronouciation difference saves it. Arianne is one that makes me twitch a bit because, the way some people say it,it sounds just like Aryan.

VerySmallSqueak · 20/11/2012 18:25

Arya and Ralph. But I agree I prefer Rafe.

12ylnon · 20/11/2012 18:29

Aryan is pronounced completely differently (Air-ee-un). Arya is (Arry-yah/ ah-ree-uh). It's from the song of ice and fire series of books and means 'noble and truth' in sanskrit.

Ralph is the name of my moustache wearing, pipe smoking, rebellious grandpa. Thats the thinking behind that one :)

*12 - I love those books.

Have developed a liking for the name Cersei which is utterly inappropriate given the character!

poppydaisy · 20/11/2012 18:35

Arya and Ralph

12ylnon · 20/11/2012 18:39

ali so many beautiful names to choose from. I love Cersei too, but like you said- ik! We like Bran for a boy, but i told my friend and she looked at me like i was a total nutter...

Handsfulloffun · 20/11/2012 18:41

I love Arya and Ralph.

I also like the name Cersei, its a shame she is such a cow in ASOIAF.

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/11/2012 18:59

Bran is a Welsh name *12! Prn Brahn but still...close!

My OH was unimpressed with it though :(

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2012 19:07

Only like Daisy for a girl.
Morris is the only vaguely okay one for a boy.
Sorry but we clearly have v different taste, as I think most of these sound hard and unpleasant on the ear.

Rhubarbgarden · 20/11/2012 19:51

Maud is lovely, lovely name.

12ylnon · 20/11/2012 20:09

Fair enough remus ! My name is Kessia, so we like an unusual name in this family :)

OP posts:
filetheflightoffancy · 20/11/2012 20:16

The name Ralph always just reminds me of that guy's penis in Judy Blume's 'Forever'!

I do quite like Rafe (spelt like that) though.

Yay4may · 20/11/2012 20:20

LOVE Arya, was on our list along with Ria and Arianna which are similar

Really dislike Daisy - too popular and ill suited beyond 6 years old imo

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/11/2012 20:31

Kessia is lovely!

I don't think any of them are unusual as such tbh - just not terribly pretty. Daisy is great though. :)

gobbin · 21/11/2012 22:36

Maud or Ralph.

They 'go' with Noah. Noah and Ralph. Noah and Maud.

manicinsomniac · 21/11/2012 23:16

Arya and Morris
