So far, we've got Ellen, Cassie, Erin. Which of these do you prefer and what are your thoughts on each?

Please could you give me your suggestions of what other names I might like.

I like names that aren't associated with a certain decade - so I guess timeless names but ones that are a bit quirky but understated.

Ellen is my favourite but I love all three.

Emma?
Fleur?
Naomi?

erin sounds nicest. cassie sounds ok as a nickname but not a full one and i don't like cassandra. i've always liked Ffion which is sort of similar but not to erin.

Rachel?
Esther?

Love Erin, how about Erica? Louisa? Alicia? Eleanor (not Ellie)

Erin is my favorite and seems to fit the bill for being timeless and a bit quirky. I have not come across any recently so not too common, but not a made-up/weird name either.

I think Erin, whilst nice, is not timeless, it will be very much associated with this generation. In 1996, 486 babies were called Erin in England and Wales (and it was ranked no. 100 in the name charts). It peaked in 2006, when 1985 babies were called it (no. 28 in the name charts), and has been steadily falling ever since (though it remains popular). Ellen has also been steadily decreasing in popularity since 1996. Cassie is the only one of those three names whose use has remained pretty constant. See this website for further stats: names.darkgreener.com/#

Cassie could be short for Cassidy if you're not keen on Cassandra, but I think it works as a name in its own right (it is used far more commonly than Cassandra).

I like Ellen best, as long as you don't live in an area where people drop their "aitches" so that they think your child is called Helen.

other suggestions:

Mary/Mairi
Lorna
Jenna
Stella
Mabel
