I have narrowed my list down to a final 6 for potential girls names for a sibling for my DD Lily. Please tell me your favourite! (And least favourite too!!) And If you have any other suggestions please add as I just cannot find a name that I have fallen in love with like I did with Lily when I was pregnant.

Emilia
Jasmine
Isabel
Maisie
Isla
Ava

Isabel
Ava
Isla
Maisie
Jasmine
Emilia

I like all these names but that would be my order of preference, with the first 4 a long way ahead of the last 2.

PandaNot · 19/11/2012 16:23

Ava

ksrwr · 19/11/2012 16:23

here are some more suggestions - they are on my list in case i ever have a dd2:
beth, candace, yasmin, nancy, jemima

Jojay · 19/11/2012 16:24

Favourite - Jasmine.
Least favourite - Maisie

MrsBungleBear · 19/11/2012 16:27

I quite like all of your names except Maisie (too twee for me).

I like Isla best but also like Emilia and Jasmine.

Katydive · 19/11/2012 17:55

Goodness me, be prepared for at least two other children you know to have these names they are very popular (and dare I say common in the nicest sense) at the moment

googlyeyes · 19/11/2012 17:56

I think Isabel is the best. That's the name I would have chosen if my Lily had had a sister instead of 2 brothers.

I would personally have discounted Emilia completely as it's too similar to Lily, or at least it would be if, as is likely, it's ever shortened. I know 2 Emilias and one is known as Milly and one as Lily

Timetoask · 19/11/2012 17:58

I like Jasmine the most.
I don't like Isla.

chocolateistheenemy · 19/11/2012 18:17

Maisie

Beaditsback · 19/11/2012 18:43

Jasmine is lovely and nn Minnie is nice too.
Ava and Isabel are very popular here unlike Isla like someone posted above. Think it depends where you are? Scotland?
Isla and Maisie are second
Also like Marcie

Anonymumous · 19/11/2012 20:20

Emilia - too popular (taking into account all the Emilys and Amelias out there.)
Jasmine - Bit chavvy.
Isabel - too popular.
Maisie - a name for a guinea pig, not a child. Too 'nicknamey'.
Isla - I don't like this. I would worry about my daughter marrying a Mr. White.
Ava - I like this best with Lily. I gather it's become more popular in recent years, but I haven't met any.

In order of preference I would pick:

Ava
Emilia
Isabel
Jasmine
Isla
Maisie

Lionsntigersnbears · 19/11/2012 20:26

Maisie is my favourite, though as anonymumous says maybe this works better as a nickname (though technically its a nickname for Margaret). Isla is my next favourite. Where I live you can't move for Isabel's so I've taken against it. Also Lily and Isabel doesn't really go too well together for some reason.

CrapBag · 19/11/2012 21:18

Emilia - Amelia fine, don't like this spelling
Jasmine - ok, not hugely common
Isabel - Ok but loads and loads around
Maisie - twee, worse choice for me
Isla - nice name have a friend who has an Isla
Ava - my favourite from this list

WaterBiscuit · 19/11/2012 21:22

Emilia's nice. Old-fashioned but pretty and not over-used.
I know an Isla, gets lots of jokes about marrying someone called Mr Wight, or Mann, etc.

SuperGaGa · 20/11/2012 17:13

I really like Emilia. It rolls off the tongue: "Lily and Emilia" (Although I also prefer Amelia :-)

SuperGaGa · 20/11/2012 17:14

Although was Amelia Lily not a contestant on x-factor? ARGH!

Rhubarbgarden · 20/11/2012 21:01

Jasmine is my favourite. Maisie I can't bear.
