My great aunt was called June Rouen and it was a code sent from WW1 in France by her father to let his pregnant wife know where he was and when. He coded it to make it sound like the name he wanted his child called if it was a DD.

His wife liked the name and June Rouen it was. He survived the war as well.

My daughter is named after a symbol for the feminine divine, because I thought giving her the name of a Goddess might cause issues in later life.

My mum chose my twin and my first names because she liked them my dad chose our middle names after his two grandmothers. I got off lightly with Catherine as my middle name my twins middle name is Honora!!

I'm named after a Beach Boy's song. And no, it's not Rhonda or Barbara-Ann! Grin

I heard my DS's name when I Was about 11 or 12 and I just knew that would be my son's name if I ever had one.

I lived abroad, and this was the name of a very highly regarded famous traditional architect and my dad loved his buildings so good memories were associated with it.

I still think it's a great name.

DH's great grandmother had the surname Reeve, but when the family fled from Wales, they changed their name to something more boring/English-sounding. So the long-standing name Reeve suddenly died out in their family. DS has Reeve as a middle name :)

I was called Laura just because my mum liked how it sounded when my dad said it (he's still got a broad Scottish accent) Grin
DD's middle name is because a close friend died while I was pregnant, and I wanted her to be a part of DD's life even if she couldn't meet her.

I was named after Natalie Wood, my mum loved her.

When choosing baby names, I really wanted to use Carlton which is a strong family name, grandpa, cousins all have it or variations of it, however DH is Scottish and Carlton came out "Carrrrrrolton" so he refused to say it - DH suggested Carter as an alternative and that's what we named DS when he arrived. His middle names are James (DH's middle name) and Spencer (my brother who we lost to cancer a few months ago).
