Tristan, Arthur or Seth?

These are the names I like today (let's bear in mind that yesterday it was Bede!).

What do we think?

Like all three of your new name ideas and like Seth best. No one will raise any eyebrows at any of them but if you wanted to be slightly more quirky then, of the three, choose Tristan.

Please no not Arturo. Please say that was a joke.

I have a Tristan. He's a bit of a handful. The only other Tristan we know is the same. Seems like the modern "Daniel" name (I have one of them, too). We also know a Vincent who is a bit of a maniac.

Can I jump on here. Arthur came to me the other night. I think I love it. But I'm a bit scared to use it.

Also love Seth.

Is it a bit London. I'm not from London.

Orange; Set is the root of Seth but as Egyptians (ancient) had now written vowels we don't have any accurate evidence as to how it was pronounced therefore there are a number of modern variations.

Rachel - Yes, there is a OT character named Seth as well. It would be interesting to see if there are any historical continuations of the name as the OT names Seth living at a much later date than the myths of Egypt began. The Egyptian god Seth went from being the god of foreigners in the Old Kingdom to the god of bad stuff by the Late period and may have evolved - I'm thinking of the Isis/Mary connection.

Anyway, totally off topic op - sorry.

Pickled I am in the NE so nowhere near London or anywhere trendy but noone has raised any eyebrows to my Arthur, or if they have it is behind my back which would be quite hard to do in this village :)

Interesting freerange as the biblical meaning of Seth is 'the appointed one' so somewhat different!!

I still think Bede is a good name.

I'm still considering Tristan and Arthur.

Tristan - too sad.

Seth - too lispy.

Arthur - ok but don't like Arty.

How about Quentin, Reuben or Christian? I also like Vincent mentioned above.

There is a baby Arthur in DD baby group, I think it's a very cool name.

Roland reminds me of Grange Hill . I do know a Roald though as in Roald Dahl.

Arthur nice but I know a lot here (south east). My first heartbreak was over a Tristan and he was the nicest most gentle person ever, so that has lovely memories for me. Obv I couldn't use it myself! Seth is on my short list. Bede, not for me. One of DHs school friends was Rowland, I think it is a nice way to spell that and looks better for some reason IMO.

I really love the name Arthur!

My DH vetoed it when I was pregnant but if consider if had another boy.

I LOVE Seth!! I worked with a Tristen and everyone would call and ask for Christian. Good luck x
