Twin boys: Edward and.....? Love to hear your suggestions.

Just discovered the twins we're expecting next year are both boys!

DH and I are stuck. He's vetoed Alexander and I'm vetoing William
(for Windsorish reasons!)

Already have a DS and DD. Naming prefs are for classic, formal names with plenty of decent nickname potential.

Want DCs to be able to adapt their name to suit rather than be defined by our tastes IYSWIM.

I'm amazed at the number of people recommending William with Edward -Bill & Ted!!

Shame DH is not on board with Alexander.

I like Henry or Christopher or Nicholas from the suggestions here. Or Robert.

How about Alastair, Robin, Leonard, Peter, Benjamin?

SecretSquirrel193 · 03/10/2012 22:49

I was going to suggest William.. What about Edward and Dominic?

Thomas my first thought too.

ShesADreamer · 03/10/2012 23:22

Wow! Went for a bath and returned to such riches! Thank you.

Two of the most popular suggestions are already taken by DH and DS1 so you're all definitely on the right lines - very impressive.

Nicholas and David are very close friends, although I like both names, and Christopher is my DBil!

Like Theodore (Theo, not Teddy, obv), Andrew, Frederick, Henry and Thomas (although the last two are a bit Rev Awdry with Edward).

Thank you all so much, great suggestions. Will run things by DH later as he's glued to evil Savile expose ATM.

Alexander, Alfred, Edmund, William, (don't do Theodore as some people might use Teddy which is an Edward diminutive too), Henry, Christopher (Kit for short), Nicholas

IWipeArses · 04/10/2012 10:32

Not Theodore. Teddy and Teddy?

bethjoanne · 04/10/2012 10:36

Edward and Robert.

gazzalw · 04/10/2012 11:03

Know a family with an Edward, James, Paul, Peter and Johnny!

minipie · 04/10/2012 15:01

I'd avoid Frederick - Ed and Fred

I think Theodore is ok though, if you call him Theo it's unlikely that people will use Teddy

Edward & Dominic
Edward & James
Edward & Julian
Edward & Justin
Edward & Benjamin
Edward & Felix
Edward & Oliver
Edward & Lawrence/Laurence
Edward & Max
Edward & Daniel
Edward & Patrick
Edward & Lucas

(some of these are repeats!)
