What kind of names do little girls love being called?

Is it only super-feminine names? I think there are lots of names I think are cool as a grown-up mum that in all fairness I would have hated to be called as a kid.

My dds use Bella, Chloe or Olivia when they are playing and most teddies and dolls are given these names .... But dd2 informed me a month ago that her new name was "Pom" so since then we are only allowed to call her that...

I went to school with a girl called Nicola, but she would only answer to 'Picardy' !? I didn't even know she was called Nicola for about 2 years!

She will be a little girl for at the most 10 years- and an adult woman for 60. Pick a name that would suit an adult woman, then use Whoopsiefairykins as a nickname.

I wanted to be Tamzin when little and, bizarrely, Janet as a teenager.

Dd was always Christina or Holly when playing pretend games.

A friend Emily has always loved her name. My sister also loved being the only Katie growing up - lots of Kates and Katherines.but only.one.Katie and had brilliant.nicknames (Katie Tatie; Katie Coconut).

DD is named after two girls in literature I love - FN is short and not girlie sounding, MN is feminine and frilly.so she can swao them.when she is older if she likes.

I liked the name Judy when I was little but would hate to be called that now, no offence to any Judys.
My dd1 likes Scarlett and dd2 loves Chloe.

Dd2 (almost 5) berates me daily for not calling her Lily or Isabella (these are the names of her friends at school).

Dd1 (7) would go for Hannah.

When I was a little girl I was desperate to be called anything other than my given name. It was unusual at the time, nobody could spell it or pronounce it (its not even a weird spelling!) and I HATED people commenting on it.

I think my favourite was Lucy or Hannah 'cause theyre princess names. I'd still call a DD Hannah, but Lucy is the name of the harlot my ex husband cheated on me with so thats out the window...

DD wants to be called Twinkle Bluebell Hmm

She's 5

She has a much more normal name in real life

You can spend all the time in the world worrying about it and end up with a child like me who hated her surname and convinced the school, aged 5, that my surname was actually Beep and there'd been a terrible mistake. I got away with it for a whole week.

My surname was perfectly nice btw. My Dad also still calls me Beeper.

I wanted to be Samantha....

DD now wishes she was called Sarah - quite a straight laced name for such a frilly little girl - and was quite upset that we wouldn't have another baby specifically so that she could be called Sarah......
