Does anyone have an Albert, Ernest or an Arthur?

If so, can you let me know what other names were on your list and also what nicknames you use.

I love these three names for a possible DS2 but they seem to receive a slating on these boards, particularly Ernest. I am surprised people dislike Ernest so much because I honestly, hand on heart, think it's lovely.

I just want to get a better feel for whether I am living in a little bubble when I am considering these names for any DS2.

We will be having an Albert very soon (I hope!) am 38 weeks pregnant. We've tended to use Bertie as a nickname but there are the options of Al, Albie or Bert. We have a Frederick who is normally Fred or Freddie.

My choices were: Albert, Walter, Wilfred, Alfred and Ernest.

Hate Albie, its like Alfie and Archie

I really like your names especially Ernest and Arthur, I also like Hugo, Quentin and Caspar.

I don't, but love Ernest and it would have suited DS1 perfectly.
I considered David nn. Davey.
Love Francis nn. Frank, Frankie, but already have one in the family.
This thread made me think of Algernon nn. Algie, leading to Rupert and Edmund.
