Well the title says it all really, am struggling for names for soon to be DS 2. I have much older girls (20,17 and 15 called Sofia, Faith and Grace) and a three yo DS named Milo so i want something that will sound nice with Milo
Iyswim ?

I liked Elliot too but dh isn't keen on the surnames for 1st names thing. I literally cannot think of a nice boys name for our DS2 (due at Christmas) dh isn't that keen on Caspar because of the friendly ghost connotation but as I pointed out Milo ( and Jake) for that matter were Tweenies!

I love Milo and Caspar,

both were on my list but DH said no Angry

We had a DD anyway so it wasn't too much of an issue.

Our compromise name was Henry.

Milo and Otis springs to mind but that's because I loved the film

Oh I got slated over the Tweenies - Dh's mum and dad hated it too because it's a drink in Europe apparently but like i said upthread you can't please everybody.

Emil is a nice name - know an Emile (sp) though. Caspar is such a nice name ( this lo had a due date of the 25th dec too but 12 week scan changed it to 23rd - it's most likely going to be the 10th though as I have to have a elcs two weeks early due to being diabetic so never gone over 38 weeks in any of my 5 pgs)

It seems quite a mouthful after Milo and I think it will probably get shortened to Cass which I'm still hmmm'ing and haaa'ing about - I have always wanted a Christmas baby though ( totally unrealistic daydreams of snuggles in front of the fire, snow, christmas dinner cooked for me, peace and goodwill ect ect ... Yeah right!)

Cass is nice tho and not too much of a mouthful i dont think.

my ds3 is the 23rd of dec and my dd is the 5th of dec and then with my sisters baby being born on the 25th dec its an expensive month for my parents! nad lol at your xmas baby dreams, my reality was a 2 day old baby stuck on boob, a 2yr old that was also still bfeeding, trying to feed both and help unwrap and assemble various xmas toys with a birth pool still int he living room so no space for a tree! Grin

I like Reuben but again my mother took the piss ( she doesn't like milo either for those that missed it upthread).

Love Benedict but don't want to hurt friend who recently lost her lo with the same name.

My dog ( who is no longer with us ) was called Otis so can't use that either.

none of our family really liked our names when we chose them, but have all got used to them.

Reuben is my Oscars middle name, i think Oscar Reuben sounds great :) he likes it too and gets called oscar roo, or roocake/roobun and many other nicknames :)

my sister and i had a cat called Casper as a children so i did Grin when she called her baby Caspar!

rosieposey · 12/08/2012 20:29

5madthings - yep I know that's all daydreams, my teen girls will be arguing, my toddler will be up at the crack of dawn, my dh stressed as he can't take any time off over Christmas except the week the baby is due and I will be undoubtedly stressed too due to the lack of being unable to get pissed this year whilst cooking the family feast. Oh and my mum recently moved up from Devon so she will be joining us and sadly won't be much help due to her arthritis ... I wonder if Lapland is a good place to have a Christmas baby!? Grin

ha ha the joybs of xmas! the year dd was born, the 5th dec, our xmas was a nightmare as the boys got a sickness and diahrea (sp) bug, literally so bad they were pooing themselves in their sleep and not reasliesing, ds2 was nearly hospitalised he was so dehydrated, ds3 was also recovering from kawasakies disease, dp was at work he also doesnt get xmas off AND int he midst of all that the bloody water was cut off so i had a 2wk old baby and masses of puke and poo to deal with and NO water, i could have wept! but i figured it couldnt get any worse! and we all survived...

god my typing is appalling! its because my nose is drippy, cant decide if its hayfever or the start of a cold.

bramblina · 16/08/2012 22:39

I know of a Caspar and Milo! It goes!

MagdalenaAlec · 17/08/2012 00:09

Love Caspar! Dh is one, he gets Casper The Friendly Ghost a lot though, but FWIW we are in the US and working in the film industry so it might increase the odds of getting it. I find Caz to be a very cool nickname, some of his British childhood mates call him Pecky as well (quite funny as it means "being hungry" and "Hecky Pecky" stands for any word you do not want to say out loud in the US).

I you are too afraid of the ghost association, how about Caspian? Quite close and would go well with Milo as well.

strugglingwiththepreteenbit · 17/08/2012 05:59

Caspar is lovely!

rosieposey · 17/08/2012 06:25

I can't use Caspian as a someone I know has just named her baby Cassian - too close iyswim? The ghost association doesn't bother me but am worried a little that If it got popular again ( the film ) he might be bothered by it.

That said there really isn't anything else I like so I think Caspar it is :)
