Faryn/Lydia

I promised I'd do this on behalf of Dsis- she's not a 'net forum kinda girl, but she wants opinions from objective outsiders IYSWIM. And obviously I told her you lot won't hold back!

She's expecting DD1 in Sept Grin and so far she's got:

Faryn Grace
Lydia Emma

She was thinking of spelling Faryn Farren instead, to make life easier for DD, but she thought that was a bit too much like a surname.

I've read so many posts about families getting involved in naming the baby that I don't want to try and sway her. also her Mil is being a pain and wants to them to consider naming the baby Maureen, Reenie for short and will not let it go However, I think Faryn is beautiful.

Also, if anyone had any ideas on a cool, special present to get for Dsis, Dbil and Dniece I'd be grateful, cos I'm stuck. I bought them the mattress for the cot my parens have bought them, which is what they asked for, but I want to get them something nice too!

I like them both a lot. Faryn has a great meaning too. Good choices.

BlueSuedeStiletto · 08/08/2012 06:19

Oh- what does Faryn mean?

I'd mix them up...

Grace Lydia
Lydia Grace
Emma Grace
Grace Emma

Not keen on Faryn.

BlueSuedeStiletto · 08/08/2012 10:08

I love grace as a first name too but she's not keen. Emma can only be a middle name, as it's my first name.

Hey I love the name faryn never heard it before. I like farrah and freya, but faryn is definately my new fave!!!!!!

NoComet · 08/08/2012 10:46

Faryn Emma or Emma Faryn

Loads of Graces about and I hate Lydia.

I just see a jam jar lid every time I hear it, very silly, but it does.

puds11 · 08/08/2012 10:51

I love Faryn, has she considered Fallon?

Stonefield · 08/08/2012 16:36

Farren means "is adventurous"
You could spell it either way. Much better than Maureen. (no offense to any Maureens out there)

Trills · 08/08/2012 16:36

Lydia.

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 08/08/2012 16:37

I love Lydia, but prefer Lydia Grace to Lydia Emma

IslaValargeone · 08/08/2012 16:37

Love Faryn or Farren whichever way it is spelt.

IslaValargeone · 08/08/2012 16:38

Love Fallon as well.

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 08/08/2012 16:55

I don't like Faryn but only because it reminds me of Farrah which sounds DREADFUL in my home accent but was popular there for a bit, eugh makes my teeth itch! but I don't think many others will have that sort of association with it!

manicinsomniac · 08/08/2012 18:52

Faryn Grace. Love it

Flutterbutterby · 08/08/2012 21:09

I really like Faryn. I've not heard it before although it does remind me of Taryn but a little softer and more feminine.

Although upon mentioning it in a questioning voice to DH, he replied "heit".

(ignores DH and scurries off to add Faryn to list for hypothetical DC3)

minipie · 08/08/2012 22:17

not sure about Faryn but my opinion isn't important Grin

Do you like Merryn? I love it and there are similarities to Faryn

BlueSuedeStiletto · 08/08/2012 23:44

amck I really like those, thanks. They're kind of understated and not too in-your-face as some ornaments can be.

Lol @ Mrbutterby' heit!
