How does this sound with our surname?

Hello ladies,
DH and I both like Cecilia but surname sounds like "Or-see-knee" so not sure it goes. Too many "s" sounds? Do the "a" and "O" vowels coming together sound clunky? Opinions appreciated.

It sounds fine to me. Do go with what you love for a name :)

I like it, and I think you should choose the name you really like, as it's not that bad with the surname - maybe not perfectly easy to say, but not awful. I notice the s sounds a bit but not the a-o. Most of the time, people won't be saying her full name, and anyway she may well end up using a shortened version or nickname.

Thank you. Any more opinions?

Very pretty. Smile

The first name does merge into the second name somewhat. This is a problem with surnames that begin with a vowel, we struggled with this and had to avoid names ending in -a. An extra 'r' gets inserted between the -a and the -O to make it easier to pronounce.
Of course, it all depends how much that bothers you, I couldn't do it. Smile

Thanks. Yes, TimeWasting, it does bother me, but trying to decide if it bothers me enough to discount a name both DH and I like. More difficult this time than with DD1.
