Amphitrite sprang (or is that lumbered?) to mind.

Some of the "Mary" names have sea connotations (owing to similar sound to "mare" (=sea) and I think some o f the Maryan legends, especially Marina.

boyfallingoutofthesky · 05/08/2012 10:17

Mara
Marina
Ariel/Arielle (ok little mermaid connection but I think v nice)
Atlanta (?!)

Naiads are water nymphs in greek mythology, some of their names include:

Daphne

NoComet · 05/08/2012 11:09

DD had a friend called Pebble, (I'm not certain it was on her BC, but it was what she always used.)

Absolutely lovely girl.

mrswoz · 05/08/2012 14:01

I know Morgan has been mentioned up thread somewhere, but we almost chose Morgana for DD when she was born in 2009, seems slightly more feminine and according to my names book here means 'from the sea shore' welsh apparently.

quite glad we didn't choose it as there is a lovely little girl at playgroup with that same name, her birthday is within a week or so of DD's as well. If it weren't for that we-d probably have it on our list again this time, still like it.
