I think I need either a one syllable or pretty short girls name for for DD3, as my others 2 DD's have 'ie' sounds on the end & another would maybe be a mouthful.
Any ideas?

Kay (not that I particularly like it but it is one syllable).

Rose? Not quite one syllable but simple.

Oh I am rubbish, some lovely suggestions but they're all ones we've thought of or the typical is 'My friend has one of those' or 'she goes swimming with DD' or '2 in DDs class....... (big sigh)

Why are girls names so difficult? Or am I just too difficult?!!

Which are your favourites of the above?

VenusWineTrap · 02/08/2012 22:05

I love Maeve

I love Jude, but DH isn't keen. I also really like Jess but have a niece Jessica, so then Tess is out too which I really like....
I also love Brooke but i've got that as a surname!

More one-syllable girls' names which start or end with strong/sibilant sounds:

Bryce
Fliss (Felicity)
Jet (Jetta)
Lise / Lisa / Lissa (Melissa)
Peach
Reese
Sash (Sasha, Alexandra)
Star

If it doesn't need to be one-syllable, how about an American name like Madison or Taylor?
