I wonder when the 2011 UK baby names statistics will be released?

Last year the 2010 statistics were released around this time of year - here's a Guardian article which was published on the 28th July 2011. So shouldn't last year's statistics be published soon? We have picked names for the baby we're currently expecting, but I want to see what happened to the popularity of them last year!

Anyone with any inside knowledge of when to expect them?

They will be released sometime in August so not long to wait! I can't wait to have a look!!

I've been wondering this too!

I was wondering too. I am hoping early August as I am due on 14th and would love to see how our shortlist fared last year!

I wonder if they are busy compiling statistics about the Olympics and so are delaying the baby names until afterwards?! I hope it won't be too long, I have until September when our baby is due - and I'm sure it won't affect our choices but I'd still like to see them!

I don't think the Olympics is a valid reason to delay publishing the 2011 baby name stats - after all, 2011 ended almost 8 months ago!
